An In-Demand Consultant:
 
- A respected authority in their industry
- Command premium pricing, clients know their worth
- Have a waitlist of people waiting to work with them
- Take projects that excite them with clients they admire
 
So how do you go from On-Demand to In-Demand?
 
It comes down to 2 things.
 
1. Right positioning
 
Your prospect will never estimate you higher than your ability to communicate your value
 
Chances are, there are competitors in your industry who know less than you, but earn more.
 
Purely because they're better at proving their worth.

2. Right messaging
 
If you want to land higher-ticket projects, you have to adjust your content to reflect it
 
→ Talk about expensive pain points & how you'd fix it
→ Build desire in your service & benefits that come with
→ Evoke curiosity, encourage them to lean in + ask more

Right Positioning + Right Messaging 
= An inbox full of dream clients wanting to work with you.

DON'T:

→ Waste time commenting on top creator's posts (low impact)
→ Comment for the sake of commenting "good share" or "great post"
→ Just summarise what the post has already said (what's the point?)

INSTEAD:

→ Interact with your dream clients
→ Interact with creators who HAVE your dream clients
→ Comment and support your peers, you'll help each other grow

Each comment:

↳ Displays your headline
↳ Can be seen by a future client
↳ So make your comment insightful
↳ Give them a reason to click your profile
↳ Take the next step via your call-to-action

Remember, your comments could land you your next client

Treat it that way

I got some pushback from a client recently.

"You say more followers ≠ more money.

But more followers = More people seeing my post = More chances of dream clients seeing it, right?"

Only in theory. But not in practice.

Here's why...

When you write for "reach" instead of engineering inbounds, your message gets diluted.

Example:

You write a "How to make $100 a day with FB ads" post. It gets 100 likes from people just getting started.

But you alienate the prospect that is already earning $1,000/day and needs help getting to $5,000/day.

Content about going from $1,000/day to $5,000k/day may only get 10 likes because it's not relatable to 99% of people.

But your dream clients will read it and want to learn more about you.

Can you build followers and make money?
 Sure, if you're selling a low-ticket product. 

But if you're selling $1k, $5k, or $10k consulting packages like my clients are, then focus on conversions, not more followers.

Here's a dirty little secret I probably shouldn't admit

→ I saw a competitor's ad on Facebook.
↳ I added him as a connection on Linkedin.
↳I went through his connections and sent 20 requests day to my ICP.

3 of those reached out and turned into paying clients just by reading my content.

My competitor spends $1000/day on ads (according to his podcast) and I converted them for free.

That's the power of an intentional content campaign.

Stop being a part of an overlooked majority.
Instead, become the respected authority.

1. Find your ICP on Linkedin, add and engage with them.
2. Create content that speaks to your prospects pain.
3. Show proof that you know how to solve the pain.
4. Create inbound-magnet posts to attract DMs.
5. Host live-events to show your skillset.
6. Send value-based DMs. Start convos.
7. Use hand-raisers to capture emails.
8. Follow up in cool & impactful ways.
9. Get results, build case studies.
10. Rinse + repeat again & again.

The more you can prove you can deliver results.
The more inbounds you'll get wanting the results

I analysed every inbound lead I've ever got on Linkedin

Here are the results

(Round numbers to make it simple)

- 25% were referrals.
- 15% saw a post, read my headline and DM'd me.
- 60% were me adding dream clients who then DM'd ME to work together.

Of the 60%:

- 1 took 6 months to reach out.
- 1 took 6 minutes to reach out.

Rest were somewhere in between

The moral of the story?
 
The bulk of my inbound leads came because 
 
→ I was proactive about being seen by my dream clients
→ I positioned myself as the respected authority in my industry
→ I sprinkled "inbound magnets" in my posts to encourage prospects to DM me
 
Right prospect → Right messaging → Right calls to action.
 
Simple but intentional.
 
Too many people overcomplicate LinkedIn. 
 
They think they need to "do more"
 
You rarely need "more", you just need better

Recently, I spoke to a consultant who struggled to land clients on LinkedIn.
