I started praying again this month. 

Reconnecting with god is helping me deal with the darkside of LinkedIn....

Let me explain.

In my early 20s I devoted myself to Christian ministry. 

I prayed for hours every morning.
I played the guitar and worshiped god.
I would interpret dreams at festivals and events.
I preached on subways and in alleys & prayed for the sick.

I considered god to be my friend. 

(yep, that's how often I talked to him)

I've never felt more purpose than those years.

But as I aged, I encountered the dark side of the church.

I saw preachers use the bible to make a profit. 
I saw leaders deceive their people from the stage. 
I saw worship leaders sin sexually while praising god.

I was accused of causing a church split.
I was accused of sleeping with a pastors wife.
I was accused of blasphemy for asking questions.

(I did none of those things)

But I let the experiences effect me...

So, I stopped hearing God's voice when I prayed.
So, I started finding loopholes in the bible. 
So I quit believing and walked away.

I realized something as I was snowboarding and praying n the mountains this month... 

I let the darkness around me consume me. 
I let the darkness I saw affect my beliefs.

The same thing has happened to me in 2024 on LinkedIn.

Many of the top 1% cheat and use engagement pods.
Many creators here lie in their content and have 0 morals.

I watch them launch AI tools and brag about launches and communities and I watch people celebrate them and their kindness..

I watch them talk about 100k months, bragging about wins and projecting strength and success..

And it all has gotten to me.

I'm so over all of this that I'm ready to quit.
↳ just like I quit my relationship with god.

I don't have a happy ending for this post here today.

But I will say this.

I started praying again. 
I am still posting sometimes.

Praying has helped me feel peace as I look towards 2025.

I have a quite confidence it's going to work out.

I believe its the prayer.

I haven't written a post with AI in 30 days.

5 things I learned (and why I'm using AI again) 

1. Creators are tired of being sold AI tools. 
2. Emotion expressed through content is rare.
3. Readers really enjoy a good rant or a good story.
5. You build an audience based on content topics.
4. It takes time to write without AI or templates.

I spent the month ranting + sharing stories.
I posted at a bunch of different times.

These were the results: 

I got less engagement in December.
But 5x the DMs and way better comments.

I've concluded the best strategy is:

Use AI to get post frameworks faster. 
↳ but edit heavily + add lots of emotions.

You'll save time, but attract quality engagement. 

I believe AI writing is just getting started...
