Will the coming recession hep or hinder AI agent adoption? Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan Chase, said 65% chance we are heading for recession. Goldman Sachs had a similar number. And that was before this latest round of the trade war. One thing I've been wondering: will this coming recession help or hinder AI agent adoption? In 2008, when my company PubMatic was rolling out programmatic advertising, many folks were unsure of it, and were not adopting. Then the Financial Crisis came, and everyone needed to find more efficient ways to do things. Programmatic advertising helped with exactly that, and it exploded as people were forced to look at new ways of doing things. Could this recession be that moment for AI? Will people be open to trying new things with AI agents and tools to get more efficient and productive because they have to? My guess is, in the very short term, companies will become more concerned about budgets and spending money. But once people start thinking rationally about how to adjust to the new reality of the recession, and do more with less, the adoption of AI agents will accelerate. Wdyt? What's happening at your company?
My 11 year old son just pointed to me that if you want chips and electrical components to be made in America (so we are self sufficient) wouldn’t you want tariffs on those products? By eliminating the tariffs on those (as Trump just did) aren’t we asking for those components to be made overseas? But we kept the tariffs for Nike sneakers, so we will encourage production of that in the US? My 11-year old asked me this and I’m not sure what to say. Any thoughts?
Vibe coding vs Vibe Engineering? Does Vibe Engineering exist? Sergey Tselovalnikov from Canva has a great post on this today. He discusses how Vibe Coding doesn't lead to high quality software systems as vibe coding is software built at a point in time (more like a prototype) whereas Vibe Engineering would require you to integrate everything tightly together into a robust, reliable, scalable, extendable system --- which is actually Engineering. I encourage you to read the post yourself: https://lnkd.in/gU9-Kan6 Who believes in vibe engineering?
