I’ve been described as a “feeling leader” - someone who is driven by passion to foster real change in the accounting profession. My path started in the tax department of a mid-size public accounting firm. Since then, my experiences leading my own firm (New Vision) and the transformational #radicalcpa movement have inspired me to look for what’s next. When I ran New Vision CPA Group, I learned through trial and error how to implement innovative best practices for processes and technology; sometimes the hard way! We pioneered full-business solutions that would later become known as advisory; but to us, it was just the way we did things. The focus was never on the failures, only the lessons learned. These lessons paved the way for The Radical CPA, a movement that began with just a few forward-thinking accountants. As the “Radical CPA,” I’ve developed a bit of a reputation as an evangelist for disruption, tech and change. I want to bring the accounting profession into the digital age and lead the next generation of accounting professionals to a better life where they can go home on time, give more to their clients and foster their passion for the industry. This is what strategic advisory and tech can do for us. The idea of using AI and automation to transform our industry is a passion, which is why I also became a Truth Advisor at Trullion in March 2021. Trullion tackles auditing workflows and lease accounting for a more transparent, streamlined process. I'm also an advisor and ambassador for Botkeeper, an AI-powered automated bookkeeping solution that's helping firms transform how they serve clients. We are seeing a revolutionary change in how accounting and bookkeeping are done. As the Radical CPA, I’m thrilled to be on this journey with you!
