Offshore accountants want a 40% pay raise…should they get it?

Teams in India are saying that U.S. Firms should spread the wealth. They feel they're being taken advantage of. 

According to a recent article from Finance Story:

“A lot of employees come to us every year saying, ‘I’ve done my market research and I’m underpaid.’”

“They’re demanding 30–40% salary hikes and promotions every single year.”

Accounting is All-Pro. But the department of edu says it isn't a "Professional Degree". 

That distinction limits student loan amounts.

But it's more about the signal it sends.

When it comes to embodying the change you want to see, Drew Carrick nails it. 

I had the pleasure to introduce Drew to my team and it was one for the record books. 

We talked about his involvement on the web series “PBC” and the importance of creativity in accounting. 

Most importantly, we talked about the need to rebrand the profession. 

Then Drew spit some bars to close the meeting.

For us #millennials, Google will always be king of the [internet] court.

This past fall I had the chance to be the special guest for one Google's Controllership speaker series, bringing together the CPAs who handle revenue accounting for Google Search and YouTube (the 2nd largest search engine, owned by the largest 😉).

It's really cool what they're doing to find ways engage these professionals with their careers, their work, and the profession by doing something different and exciting.

Accounting AI agents can’t fully deliver on Trust🛡️ 


A recent article highlights the human advantage in accounting.

“There is also the element of trust, responsibility and ethical consideration we expect from accounting professionals, which AI cannot fully deliver.”

I agree. 

AI cannot fully deliver trust. But then again people Trust their calculator, why not their AI agent. 

Will Trust always be a human advantage over AI?
