#AI shocked us in 2023 — but that was just text on screens.

Now humanoid robots walk into schools and warehouses… priced cheaper than 6 months of minimum wage.

Tesla still promises Optimus at $20,000 “someday.”
 
Meanwhile, China’s Unitree Robotics R1 is shipping globally today at $5.9K.

It isn’t perfect — 1-hour battery, optional hands, plenty of caveats.

But here’s the thing: progress doesn’t crawl anymore. It sprints.

From $100K humanoids → $20K promises → $6K reality in under 24 months.

What happens when that curve continues?

$3K? $1K? Subscription robots like SaaS?

We’re teaching kids Python while their lab robots learn by watching.

We’re debating “2030 job loss” while bakeries (case in Berlin) automate in 2025.

The future question isn’t technical.

It’s ethical. Political. Human.
