Long before I became Johnny Trichas, the Sales Manager, I was just Johnny, the fresh sales rep with a fire in his belly and an insatiable ambition to make my mark in the sales world.  
 
My journey started with a laptop, a list of leads, and a naive notion that sales was simply a numbers game.  
 
Almost straight away, reality hit.  
 
This was no easy path. Each call, pitch, and rejection chiselled me into the person I am today, taking me one step closer to my vision. 
 
I remember this one time early in my career. I was on the brink of closing a pretty big deal, or so I thought. Turned out, the prospect was just leading me on. He vanished right when I thought the deal was in the bag. It was a gut punch. It was my first major failure, and man, it hurt. 
 
But here's the thing about failures.  
 
They're merely disguised opportunities. That experience taught me more about sales than any book or mentor ever had. It taught me resilience, it taught me to read signs. 
 
Fast forward to now, after countless calls, pitches, and yes, rejections, I've continued to be resilient and that's when success came. 
 
But the journey doesn't stop here. There are still deals to be closed, leads to be generated, and sales to be managed. 
 
To all the go-getters out there, staring at screens, dialling numbers, remember this:

In my early days as an Junior AE, my cold emails reeked with 'I saw your profile on LinkedIn' or 'My company does xyz'.  
 
Not surprisingly, they were met with radio silence.
