Associate Director responsible for strategic consulting, including growth plan development, market monitoring & assessment, competitive intelligence gathering and innovation identification & analysis.

Market sizing, competitive intelligence gathering, innovation monitoring, product ideation and development, whitespace opportunity identification, go-to-market strategies, customer experience, employee engagement, ad testing and trend sensing.  

Maintained an annual revenue base of over half a million dollars - $400K across various retainer clients and approximately $150K from project-based work. Provided consultation to ORC’s internal Strategy Research & Solutions and Customer Insights teams. Managed, trained, and mentored a rotating team of 5-10 Associates as part of the ORC International Development program (ORCID).

Conducted respondent recruitment and managed logistics for over 130 focus groups nationally and internationally, including televised groups aired on FOX, CBS and AOL. Streamlined and expanded internal respondent mailing list from 100K to 150K. 

Messaging and branding strategies were developed using data collected during qualitative and quantitative live-dial focus groups and national quantitative surveys.

As Chief Data Officer, I am responsible for the growth and development of Flight Story's proprietary data platform: Flight Deck. Flight Deck aggregates financial, news, search, social and forum data to help companies understand the impact of the combined messages being shared about their brand. I also work closely with leads from Flight Story's Business Strategy & Consulting arm to help guide research methodology and gather business insights for our clients.

Customer experience is EVERYTHING, but I don't see it in web3. 

The more blue chip brands move into web3, the more I realize: if you want to be a successful Web3 company, you NEED to focus on the O2O (online to offline) space. 

The most success and support for tech companies came when they invested in scaling physical operations (think about Airbnb with property, Amazon with distribution and Uber with drivers).

Adoption of web3 technology requires a strong emphasis on customer experience and real world interactions. Those who fail to connect their online web3 wallets to real world services are missing a crucial opportunity.

The future of web3 will be shaped by companies that can connect consumers in the physical world and enhance social and cultural unity through their stories. The exchange of digital assets on the blockchain will facilitate mutually beneficial real world sharing.

Chief Data Officer at Flight Story | Investor | Public Speaker

You know what my company needs, more meetings.

Said NO ONE EVER. 

I think this might be the best story of the year so far. 

Yesterday, Shopify announced it would be implementing a policy that prohibits meetings from being scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The policy is intended to increase productivity and reduce employee stress. 

Oh, and AI is going to watch to make sure it happens. 👀 

A bot will enforce the policy by reminding meeting organizers of the new rules starting January 5. 

As the Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke says, "The best thing founders can do is subtraction."
