The Climate Hub's latest case study interview tickled me pink. It also surfaced a few recurring themes (we hear this stuff time and time and time again):

❕ Generic content agencies do not get carbon markets
↳ Fluff doesn't work when you're selling into highly technical, risk-averse audiences. The bar is high: technically credible thought leadership, actionable business insights, and copy that holds up under scrutiny from scientists, investors, and in this case — a CEO with an editor's eye.

❕ Process-driven rigidity does not work for climate startups
↳ Priorities can shift quickly. Startups working within emerging markets need flexible partners who can plug straight into the team, move fast, and deliver at high quality (without the endless back and forth). Slow delivery timelines and costly review overhead are huge headaches for small teams.

❕ Proactivity is a huge value add
↳ A true content partner doesn't just respond to a brief. They spot opportunities and provide ideas based on individual business needs. They understand where the business is headed, anticipate content gaps before they become blockers, and connect dots across strategy, product, and market shifts.

When content runs smooth as hell

Webinars are still the number 1️⃣ driver of leads for our clients… BUT:

Most climate tech companies aren’t taking full advantage of this direct line to their audience. 

Here’s how to capture the most value out of your webinars:

🎯 Get specific

Keep the scope narrow. If your webinar promises to answer a very specific question, you’re more likely to get signups.

💭 Insight and opinion > facts

Don’t lecture your audience with info they can find faster through a Google search. Aim to make the focus of your webinar sound more like “our experts’ take on X” rather than “an introduction to X.”

💸 Promote through paid channels

Any valuable content asset deserves a budget for paid media, and webinars are no exception. Focus on LinkedIn and consider adding some Google Ads if your topic hits a hot-button keyword.

📚 Prime with "snackables" 
(2-pager brief, checklist, calculator/template) 

Keep the asset topic identical to the webinar promise; use dual CTAs: “Get the brief” and “Save your seat.” After the event, flip the gate to “slides + recording + cheat sheet” and re-engage no-shows with a short nurture.

🔄 Follow up

Lumping attendees onto an email list with occasional, generalized updates doesn’t cut it. Marketing teams can help sales set up automated, industry- or problem-specific nurture sequences from your sales reps to turn lukewarm leads into hot ones.

💡 Use questions for future content

An easy place to start is to use questions submitted to the Q&A as inspiration for future content, but you can also go the extra mile with pre- and post-webinar surveys and questionnaires.

I'm wrapping up a big messaging project for a client in the climate risk analytics space, and — as these things tend to do — it's evolved into a website copywriting project. And it has me reflecting on the (many) different kinds of tasks I do in a given week and which of them I particularly like.

(As any self-employed writer knows, writing is merely one of many components that go into keeping the lights on.)

So I got to thinking about how I *love* a good-looking project. Unfortunately, my design skills are shite. It's frustrating. (Thank goodness for Rochelle, our dedicated + superstar design whiz.)

But you know what I CAN do?

Wireframe a home page. Gosh, it never gets old. There are few things more satisfying than:

1 — Nailing a brand messaging project
2 — Outlining the core pages of a website
3 — Bringing it to life in a Gdoc wireframe
4 — Scrolling up and down to admire my handiwork 

Start to (almost) finish baby. Seriously. Layout makes things beautiful. I can only imagine what designers and developers feel like when they launch a site. 

SUCH SATISFACTION.

So, yeh. Favorite non-writing, work-related task = wireframing website copy. Hands down. Happy Friday.

🏠 FORTIFIED building adoptions have doubled since 2019

McKinsey estimates $600B–$1T in addressable market opportunities for resilience technologies by 2030, growing 7–11% annually.

They identify three actions needed to unlock this capital at scale:

1️⃣ Quantify return on resilience
2️⃣ Create pre-loss financing incentives
3️⃣ Build specialist capital and underwriting capacity

→ Prove near-term resilience benefits with numbers
→ Show maturity and adoption beyond pilots
→ Translate impacts into bankable outcomes that capital committees recognize
