I quit my psych career in ‘22, started writing, and built 2 businesses from my home.

If you’re new to business, congrats. You just did what most people dream of.

The entrepreneurs I started with left one by one. Only a few remain.

The biggest failure of the LinkedIn industry? Easy.

Broken trust.

"We get you 300 B2B LEADS in 9 days"
"You can get business in just 60 MINS."
"Your founder needs 50K followers"...for what?

Businesses in their worst times fall for this rather easily. They need to find a way out.

Every little gimmick these scammers play is to lure clients in with fake promises. That's what opportunists do best.

Some folks said, "I don't trust marketing itself anymore. We took their advice and sunk deeper."

Promises are given freely but no one can claim: "I am a person of my word. I care about my principles. What we preach is what we do."

I have seen this for about three years now; business veterans told me "It's how most businesses go to die. They trust the wrong people."

I have no power over how this can change. Frankly, I am not expecting it to.

I was burning up with anger for a couple of months; others advised me to leave it. "The world won't change, Sadiya."

But then Stella Šakić saw through me, "Listen, what if we don't fix the wrongs? We can create a new world. Build a better ideal!"

I would hate to be a hypocrite crying on the soapbox but never do anything about it.

It's easy, really. I know what's needed. I just needed someone to tell me to stop yapping and do something about it.

That's when Chimère [Sh-ii-mere] was born. Chimera is Greek for monster; Chimère is French for "the unimaginable idea."

Every founder, CEO, and CMO tells me they like the idea of content conversion, but they lack direction. It's never been achievable in their case.

So we are going into their business, solving problems to get immediate wins, and guiding them on how to find long-term solutions themselves.

Maybe it's boring to you. I just see businesses being schemed and not being able to retaliate, and I get to change this for work. That's my why.

Creators shouldn’t measure likes,

Very misleading. A better sign of lead gen?

The actual impact {i}.

{i} = [Posts + Profile + DMs + Comments]

If you don’t analyze and measure how what you do works,
You’re doing a whole lot of work for nothing.

So I focus on {Cold} and {Hot} metrics:
Cold:
– Titles in Profile views.
– Titles of followers.
– Titles of people liking your posts/comments.

Hot:
– Titles of connection requests.
– Titles of enquiries.
– Titles of call bookers.

The cold ones are the lagging indicators,
The hot ones are the leading.

I won’t care if my future clients don’t like my posts,
I wouldn’t like or comment if I wanted to work with you.
They are lurking around, deciding if you’re the one.

But I WILL care if they're not following/connecting/DMing/e-mailing me.

P.S. Focus on what’s going to move your business.

“But more reach = more recognition for the business!!” — No it doesn’t.
Just because everyone knows you are a financial advisor doesn’t mean they trust you to pay you $9K/month.

Especially if the high reach content is about cats, coffee, or nicotine patches.

2 years ago, Mark slid into my DMs:
"Our crypto venture needs a LinkedIn presence."

They were about to be crushed. I did something horrible.

Me: What's the goal?
Mark: A reputation that invites investors, partners, and top talent.

Me: Isn't crypto huge on Twitter, though?
Mark: We want LinkedIn. It's the business hub.

I knew the strategy. Each founder had an edge: philanthropy, economic outlooks, and crypto leadership.

First call with Josh, founder 1. Social activist, millionaire by 28. He wanted me to train his team to build on LinkedIn.

I said yes.

Josh was pumped. He wanted to see some content assets ASAP.

He never got them.

I messed up in two ways:

1) Chased passion. Said yes, though I had zero capacity.

2) Hooked on perfection. Drafted their strategy and some content but I wanted to make them *even* better. Even though I had no time to do it.

I told them I couldn't go ahead right now. Apologized. They were pretty disappointed.

Well, I had to shift my ways later. Anyway.

With what I know now, we would have involved their best business development and sales folks so they influenced the leads they got. Not their social media intern.

3 truths I can't deny after publishing 1720 posts.

1) Copy is the vehicle, distribution is the road.

2) Market yourself 365, especially during off season.

3) Most B2B businesses never sell because they focus on selling. 

Good marketing is subtle selling. 

You don't say "Partner with us!"

You sow the seed in their minds.

Most post all the time but don't get enquiries because they can't do this.

If you are trying to measure your efforts, track:

1) High intent you get vis DMs, profile views, connections, followers.

2) Titles of content viewers.

3) Connection acceptance rate (with a margin for error) 

Fixating on ROI leads to none.

Doing what brings ROI leads to signed deals.

This is the beauty of branding, you get to define it, you get to build unimaginable returns.

2/3 marketing leaders find LinkedIn hard,

Because of these 7 blind spots:

1) Pitching won't convert without a solid company presence.

4) Informative content is boring;

How to convince your team to post

Swallow 2 bitter truths before you judge them:

1. They don't trust their writing skill.
2. They don't get the content strategy.

The tricky part is they don't even get HOW conversion works.

They're scared of getting low engagement.

Not to mention the added stress to figure out HOW a converting post is written.

If I hate the gym I will start exercising at home.

If they hate being on the battlefield, train them to write internally and review the content.

Cut:
• Generic terminology
• Paras that say nothing.
• 3 line hooks
• Weak ending
• Dull language

Add:
• A version 2 edited by you.
• A step-by-step checklist.
• Social-to-selling networking strategy.
• Sales-backed writing rules.
• 3EX System.

Equip them for battle.

So they can do their jobs.

Content creators are HUGE people pleasers.

When CEOs paste the same boring 'strategy' for every BDR, it screams

"We're dull and do this to appease the masses."

How about you make them hungry enough to DM you?

You are either playing the “Get 50K followers and sell $12 products” game.

Or the “Ignore the noise and sell our $20K retainer” game.

Both take time out of your life and funding out of your accounts. 
The latter is quicker obviously.

You can get your first enquiry in 4 weeks. 
You can’t get to 50K followers in that time.

The high of chasing popularity will never get old, don’t expect yourself to be wise just because you are 40 or 60 or whatever. That dopamine hit scrambles all brains equally.

Choose if that is what you NEED to increase your conversions.

So zoom out, realign, and if you are okay with less revenue and profit so you can get more noise — keep going.

I am choosing to build my legacy with a select few.

I will be frank with ya— none. NONE of that gets you the life you deserve.

People are building how good it looks on the outside. A decade later they won’t romanticize their shallow presence era.

They'll only remember the peer pressure they fell for.

My clients aren’t famous on LinkedIn, they are reputed in their industry. Their focus is to build a salient corner of the internet. To sell nothing cheap. To get great outcomes.

I don’t care if you want more likes, it’s a great to make some noise.

I am talking about diluting and enmeshing your real self, ideas, values and leadership into a form you no longer believe in or even recognize.

I won't remember you a week after you stop posting, but you will remember every little red flag you saw.

Build something you trust. Build something buyers rely on.

Build something you will be PROUD of.
