My departure from Plooto, the company I co-founded with Hamed nine years ago, came as a complete surprise to many of you. I don’t post often, but I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone, colleagues, friends, and partners, who had reached out to me over the past few weeks. Your messages truly mean a lot, and I deeply appreciate the time you took to check in with me.

I also wanted to share an update with you all. I have initiated a court proceeding against Plooto and its current Board of Directors. I am alleging that they acted in a manner that was oppressive to my reasonable expectations by marginalizing and undermining my position as a shareholder and director, as well as by breaching rights that were negotiated and have been held since the inception of Plooto as part of my shareholder agreements.


Although it saddens me deeply and despite my genuine efforts to resolve these matters amicably, the Board has left me with no choice but to seek relief through legal means. This has been one of the most challenging experiences of my professional life. Plooto is a company that I poured my heart and soul into. From the very first idea sketched on a whiteboard to a platform that now supports over 13,000 active businesses monthly, I have lived and breathed this company for nearly a decade. Unfortunately, I now see no other path forward but to enforce my rights as both a co-founder and board member of Plooto.

Despite these circumstances, I remain incredibly proud of what Plootonians have accomplished. Our work has made a significant impact on our customers and the Canadian FinTech industry. I'm grateful to have worked alongside so many remarkable people who helped shape Plooto into what it is today. Thank you again for your notes and messages. Your support truly means the world to me.
