Having spent 30+ years in the world of Architecture and Interior Design (Commercial and Residential), with a few short breaks and sojourns into Market Research and Advertising. My last decade or so has been focused around Aviation, the functional design of Airport environments. Passenger experience, Materials handling and Mechanical systems, Life safety et al... I have always had a strong interest in technology, having help create an Internet start-up in the early '90's, to more recently working with Genetic Algorithms and AI. This is the area that most excites me and where I see the power 'The Machine', can bring to tangible and lasting benefits in the built environment. In a world facing environmental (wild-life and landscape) degradation, energy transformation and resource depletion. With this new departure point, I'm passionate about 'Re-generative Design'. A paradigm shift where Architects and Designers consider their design choices and strategies up-front, with the long term future in mind. Opposed to 'Sustainably' designed buildings, based on a rationale of only using the minimum resources needed. To now considering regenerative entities, designed and operated to reverse damage and have a lasting 'net-positive' impact on the environment.   This is early days, so it's really a case of 'watch this space'..
