In 1985, my parents and I emigrated Iran for better opportunities in the United States. We left everything and everyone. My mom could not get a job at McDonald’s and my Father was earning $3.75 an hour as a shoe salesman. We lived in a 600 sq foot apartment and moved multiple times. English is my second language, and every time we moved, I was bullied and had to adapt. Eventually, my Father was able to open up a small business and asked me (forced me, lol) to work every Saturday and summer breaks. I started off as a car porter and janitor and then learned how to market and rent apartments and then eventually sell cars (all by the age of 18). Unbeknownst to me at the time: I was receiving a second education. “Amir: since your grades are terrible at school, you’re going get straight A’s in secondary school” - My Dad After barely graduating high school (1.7 GPA) and then dropping out of college, I became a telemarketer for a small mortgage brokerage, where I made over 10,000 cold calls (minimum) and quickly became the top telemarketer in the country. I learned how to say “hi, how are you?” in 20+ languages with near perfect annunciation to build hyper quick rapport in the first 30 seconds of every call. It’s always been the details and nuance, and pursuit of excellence in business that drives me. This force inside me could very well come from a place of fear. The fear that I will be made fun of for my English or being looked down on as a broke immigrant kid. Whatever it might be, I’ve learned to harness it and am a true “cold caller to baller” success story. At the age of 25, I purchased my first property: a 17-unit apartment building for $1M that I still own today. As a residential loan officer, I’ve also personally funded over $1B in home loan volume and $100M+ yearly from 2019 to 2022 alone. Currently, I’m the CEO of Growth Only Coaching (GO! Coaching), the top Modern Loan Advisor Coaching Community in the 🇺🇸 and the Chief Growth Officer of Lower.com, a multi-channel fintech lender. Not bad for a kid from Iran.
