I hold a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen's University, where I specialized in English and History, with a concentration on Indigenous Teacher Education. 🏫 My teaching journey has taken me to inspiring placements with the Limestone District School Board (LDSB) and the Algonquin-Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB), where I've had the privilege of shaping young minds and nurturing a love for learning. 🔐 I'm passionate about breaking down barriers to education, which led me to an alternative teaching placement at Joyceville Institution, a federal prison. There, I collaborated with program officers to address disparities in the education system and worked on initiatives to support inmates in completing their high school education, ultimately helping them build a path to a career after their sentence. 🌿 As a committed environmentalist, I was honoured to be selected as an Ontario Changemaker for 2022-2023. During this time, I implemented impactful environmental education programs in Kingston, ON, aiming to empower students with knowledge and skills to create a sustainable future. 📚 Currently, I'm on a quest for continuous growth and knowledge by pursuing a Master's degree in Literature at York University.
