I’m Dr. Beverly Pell - retired professor, veteran home educator, researcher, tech-positive teacher, a mother, grandmother, entrepreneur and founder.

I raised my own kids in the Information age and understand firsthand the struggles and challenges that come with raising kids with digital devices.

I surveyed hundreds of parents who leaned on technology while raising their kids, and discovered how overwhelmed they were with monitoring and regulating screen time, and trying to keep up with the latest changes in technology.

I successfully transitioned from university instructor to marketing coordinator while working with David Greusel, FAIA, and the team at Convergence Design. I taught myself WordPress to create the company's website (24 pages); learned Adobe Creative Suite; designed, edited, and produced proposal packages; led team in digital marketing efforts, and more.

Worked individually and with an expert team of researchers and teachers in the development and design of customized alternate assessments in Language Arts and Social Studies. The Accessible Teaching, Learning and Assessment Systems (ATLAS) within the Achievement & Assessment Institute, promotes learning and improved outcomes for all students, with a special focus on students with disabilities.

As a licensed educator, I spent months in classrooms with students, observing how technology was used in every school and in scores of classrooms. I spoke with media librarians. I observed teachers, administrators and students as they taught using education apps and online programs with a variety of devices for learning in the classroom. I have an extensive knowledge of educational programs which are teacher-friendly, open source and provide high quality instruction that is entertaining and engaging for students.

As the founder of Smart Digital Kids LLC, I help parents and educators raise the next generation of digital kids who use technology in smart, intentional, ethical, and creative ways. I have a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, with a focus on technology, and over 25 years of experience working in the education and business sectors.

I created the TAME Your Tech™ and ACE Your Tech™ frameworks to control personal tech use, based on my research and surveys of hundreds of parents who use technology in the home. I also offer 1:1 coaching, workshops, and webinars to empower families and schools to thrive in a digital world. I'm passionate about technology, creativity, entrepreneurship, mental health and wellness, and I love to connect with people who share these interests.
