An uncomfortable leadership reality that took me a long time to fully control: Your calendar reveals what you truly value. 
Do you happen to your day or does your day happen to you? Do you happen to your month or does your month happen to you? And before you know it….you’re asking the question “Does my life happen to me or do I happen to my life?” 
Time blocking is one of the best things I ever did to my calendar.  And it’s tied to the “rocks in the jar first” concept from Covey. Your activities that are the big lever movers. Your zones of genius and also that matter the most to you…. are those taking up majority of your calendar? Are they the rocks going in the jar first?  And those rocks are making it to your kids baseball practice just as much as critical moves for your career. They’re non-negotiable, and then the pebbles follow and the sand that fills in the gaps. If you let the sand go first. The things that give you endorphin hits, but don’t move the needle. Things that are urgent, but not important. There will never ever be room in the jar for the rocks.  Take your calendar. Go back three months, six months, 12 months see what owned your time. What are you feeding and what are you starving with your time.

3. What would you do differently if you were me to make the business/life better?. 
3 Things to Do After (to implement change):
1. Confront reality: Look at the raw data, both good and bad, to understand the true state of affairs.
2. Find a coalition of "productive rebels": Identify and work with people who are willing to challenge the status quo.
3. Get out of the way: Allow those rebels to take action and influence change, rather than micromanaging the process.
