This was a fantastic opportunity to work with some leaders in the industry and advance science in my chosen area; The effects of 3, 3-Dimethyl-1-Butanol on choline induced gut microbial trimethylamine formation. Initially I completed a literature review on current evidence and opinions.  During the data collection period, I organised a team of scientists to complete different tasks on different areas of the project. It was then my responsibility to collate all the different parts of information, dissect them and organise meetings with all members of the team in which I presented what we had completed that week and what I felt our next step should be. Following the 4-months of work I wrote a paper for publishing in the esteemed British Journal of Nutrition. I am hopeful my work will go towards future work in the area of cardiovascular disease and nutrition.
