Celebrating 39,000 followers.

I need to be honest about something.

When I first got on LinkedIn, I had one goal. Grow the business. Get clients. Fill the pipeline.

And it worked.

But somewthing along the way changed me.

I stopped asking "How can LinkedIn grow my business?" and started asking "How can I make a positive impact in someone's life today?"

That shift changed everything.

Here's what I've learned showing up 6 days a week, every single week:

Nobody cares about your credentials until they feel your heart.

Consistency is good. Faithfulness is better.

You cannot teach what you have not lived.

And impact will always outlast income.

I've received messages from people telling me "You changed my life." Others have said "You saved my life." Men and women reaching out to say their lives have been made new through The Transformation Adventure.

I want to be clear about something. I am the facilitator. God does the work. Every single time.

It took me a while to get here. To stop performing and start walking in my true identity. To stop leading with what I do and start operating from who I am.

But I'm here now.

39,000 of you chose to follow a man who was once ranked 119 out of 119, sitting in his car in the rain with the gas light on and zero commissions. 

A man who in 2004 had a loaded gun to his head and that moment…God sent someone to knock on my door and say "God told me to come to your house right now."

7 Business Lessons From a Barista... for every entrepreneur who needs to hear this today:

1.) Progress over perfection. Every single time. The barista who waits until the pour is "perfect" never serves a cup. The entrepreneur who waits until the plan is "perfect" never serves a client.

2.) Failures are your greatest teacher. But only if you own them. The first latte my son ever poured looked like a mess. 

He didn't quit. He adjusted. Most entrepreneurs? They quit… because they don't realize the mess is an important part of the process. Don't be most entrepreneurs.

3.) Surround yourself with people who are where you want to go. 

Not where you've been. Your environment is either pulling you forward or holding you hostage. There is no neutral.

4.) It's not what people think about you. 

It's what you think people think about you. 

Read that again. 

That lie has killed more entrepreneurs than a bad strategy ever will.

5.) Fear doesn't disappear. 

You just stop letting it drive. 

The best baristas still get nervous before a pour. 

The best salespeople still feel the tension before the call. Courage isn't the absence of fear. 

It's making the call anyway and shifting to focusing on the client, not you..

6.) Consistency and discipline are the dynamic duo. 

Talent gets attention. 

Consistency gets results. 

Discipline gets freedom. You want all three.

7.) Stop measuring your life in weeks. 

Start measuring it in years. 

What you accomplish this month doesn't matter nearly as much as who you're becoming over the next 12 months.

BONUS: Clarity breeds confidence. 

Execution brings clarity. 

You don't think your way into clarity. You act your way into it. Most people have it backwards.

Why you miss out on God’s blessings. 

You allow fear to keep you from God’s plan…

…for your life.

And you miss out on the blessings he has for you.

Fear doesn't start when you face the challenge.

It starts when you see yourself as small.

The Israelites stood at the Promised Land. 

God said "It's yours." 
They saw the fruit. 
But they focused on the giants.

And fear made them “grasshoppers” (small) in their own eyes.

Their fear was so great that they actually said “we’d be better to go back to Egypt” and be in slavery then face these giants.
Numbers 13–14.

Same land Joshua and Caleb saw.

But… they had a different perspective.
They believed God would deliver them into the promised land.

The people who didn't trust God and allowed fear to control them… stayed stuck in mediocrity for 40 years until they died.

❌They missed out on God's blessing and you will too. 

❌If you allow fear to keep you from stepping into what God has called you to do.

✅ But Josua and Caleb entered into the promised land God had for them.

That's still the battle today.

God has a promise for you, but you focus on the giants, not God, and miss out on the Abundant life God has for you.

Most Christians lose it before they ever take a step.

I told myself for 35 years: 
“I am what I DO."

My worth = my productivity.

Then God whispered something that shattered everything.

Here’s the 411...

I was crushing it in business.

Revenue up. 
Clients happy. 
Growing.
Working 12-14 hour days.

Then I started coughing on a video call.

Couldn't stop.

Got worse and worse.
Pretty soon, I was bedridden 12-16 hours a day.

For 6 months.

Lost 19 pounds. 
Umbilical hernia. 
Could barely walk to the bathroom.

Everything that gave me purpose… gone.

At first, panic:
"How will I survive?"

"My business will collapse."

"If I'm not producing, who am I?"

Around month 4, God whispered in my spirit:
"You're not what you DO. You're who you ARE."

For 35 years, I'd believed:
Doing → Being… 
“If I do enough, I'll be enough."

God showed me:
Being → Doing
"You already ARE enough. Now do from that place."

I was wrong. So so wrong.

Here's what changed:

I stopped measuring my worth by my output.
I started anchoring my identity in who God says I am.

My identity - “I’m a giver of life, and I speak life into people and into businesses”

When I came back to work, I wasn't striving to prove my worth.

I was serving from overflow.

But more importantly…I had peace.

The shift:
Your identity isn't what you achieve.

It's who God says you are.

When you operate from that, everything changes.

It's the subtle shift from performing to prove your worth to performing from knowing who God created you to be.

You're not what you do. You're who you are.

In honor of my mom RIP

The house on Kensington Road didn't creak. It gleamed.

Silver polished. Shoes aligned. Posture perfect.

At eight years old, she learned that poise was protection. That composure was strength. That love was... optional.

Her father was a respected physician whose hands saved lives but never ruffled his daughter's hair. Dinner conversation circled safe harbors: grades, manners, weather.

Never hearts. Never wounds.

At finishing school, they told her etiquette was how you honor others. For her, it became armor.

**Her second husband handed her keys to a white Thunderbird with suicide doors.**

The kind that opened backward—dramatic and dangerous, just like his promises.

They bought a dream house on Lake Erie. Boathouse. Beach. Pool.

From the outside: perfection.  
Inside: betrayal.

The Thunderbird was "stolen." Actually: repossessed.

She stood in the doorway and felt something crystallize—not heartbreak, but something harder. Something that would keep her safe.

**Anger became fuel.**

Cleveland, 1975. A mother of three sons. She traded art for real estate, built an empire on hustle.

Her name on yard signs. Her voice on radio ads. Success arrived. Connection did not.

Her youngest son, Chaz, kept trying to hug her. She'd stiffen. Pull away.

"I love you," she'd say, because you were supposed to. But love was a word without warmth.

**Years later, Kansas City.**

Chaz still hugged her. Every visit. Every goodbye.

Finally, she asked her daughter-in-law: *"Why does he do that? It's excessive."*

*"Probably because he loves you."*

The words landed like sunlight on frozen ground.

Then came church members—dinners, prayers, cards. Serving someone they barely knew.

Each act was another chisel strike on the marble around her heart.

*Why are they doing this?*

What they wanted was nothing.  
What God wanted was her.

**The diagnosis came: cancer.**

For twenty-five years her sons had prayed—not for illness, but for an opening.

One October afternoon, her oldest son spoke of Jesus again. This time, something stirred.

Every silence, every guarded moment collided with grace.

*"I can't keep holding on."*

*"Then let go, Mom."*

**October 15, 2000:** "I believe... Jesus."

Jacqueline Horn became new—not the refined woman the world had known, but the beloved daughter God had always seen.

**Two days later, October 17, 2000.**

She had entered the world surrounded by silence.  

She left it surrounded by prayer, and love.

Her final breath wasn't lonely. It was liberated.

*The woman who spent life building walls spent her final forty-eight hours watching them fall.*

What waited on the other side wasn't exposure.

It was home.

This woman was my mom.

Her story is finished. 
Yours is still being written

How to make a first impression with your prospect that leads to them being a new client

You have zero excuse in 2026.

Every piece of information you need about your prospect is sitting right there waiting for you. Their LinkedIn profile. Their company website. Their recent posts. Their earnings calls. 

Their podcast interviews. And now, with AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude, you can go even deeper in minutes.

Here is the simple prompt that changes everything:

"I am meeting with [Name], who holds [Position] at [Company]. 

Do an in-depth research summary on this person and their company. Give me insights that will help me engage in a thoughtful conversation so they know I understand them, I understand their business, and I can make a genuine connection and build real rapport."

That one prompt gives you more preparation than 90% of salespeople will ever do. And it takes less than five minutes.

When you walk into that meeting armed with real knowledge, something shifts. You are not pitching. You are connecting. You are not guessing at their pain points. You are speaking their language. The prospect feels it immediately. 

They know the difference between someone who showed up to sell and someone who showed up to serve.

The best salespeople are not the smoothest talkers. They are the most prepared. They do the work before the work begins.

Research is not optional. It is the foundation of every great first impression. It is the difference between "Who are you again?" and "I can tell you really get what we do here."

Do the research. Use the tools. Show up ready.

Your prospect will thank you for it.

How God transforms your life through…

…renewing your thoughts.

For most of my life, I looked fine on the outside.

But on the inside? I was stuck. Triggered. Replaying the same fears, the same anxious thoughts, the same emotional loops day after day, week after week, year after year.

Something from my past would hit me and I'd be right back there. Stuck in a cycle I didn't know how to break.

Then came a season so difficult that I finally had to face the truth: I had no idea how to process my emotions or regulate my own thoughts.

Here's what I discovered.

The beginning of emotional intelligence is self-awareness. It's learning to understand your thoughts and emotions and take control of them instead of letting them control you.

But there's another layer most people never talk about: spiritual intelligence. The ability to connect with God and hear from Him clearly.

When you combine both, everything changes. God's Word literally creates new neural pathways. It rewires how you think, how you respond, and how you see yourself.

That's what the DAVID Framework is all about. Pulled straight from Psalm 13, it's David's five-verse journey from despair to praise, and it's the same path available to you right now.

D - Dump. Pour out everything to God. Every fear. Every anxious thought. Hold nothing back.
A - Ask. Bring your specific requests before Him.
V - Verify. Align what you're hearing with God's Word.
I - Interpret. Let the Holy Spirit reveal what He's saying over your life.
D - Delight. Shift from despair to praise as truth replaces the lies.

You don't have to stay stuck in the cycle. You weren't designed to be held hostage by your thoughts.

You were designed to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

My client got pushed around by prospects.

She had a 6-month sales cycle and a 15% closing percentage.

Clients demanded discounts. 
Added services.

Then she said one sentence, and it dropped her sales cycle to 3 weeks and increased her closing % from 15 to 43%

Here's the 411...

Rebecca is a leadership consultant.

Delivered incredible value.

But every proposal turned into:

"Lower the price 10%."
"Add these services."
"Remove this, change that."

She'd cave every time.

Why?

She showed up subservient.

"Thank you so much for considering me. Would you want me adjust the price?"

I prepped her before her next meeting:

"You're equals with your prospect. But YOU are the authority guiding the conversation."

"If you allow the Prospect to control the conversation, it will end up a mess for you and for them."

She presented her solution.

They demanded: "Lower it 10%. Remove these services."

She said something she'd never said:

"I don't think I'm going to be able to work with you."

Dead silence.
CEO: "Can we call you back?"

She got off. Hands shaking.

Texted me: "I think I just blew it."

10 minutes later:
Email arrives.
Full contract. 
No changes.
Apology from the CEO.

Her sales cycle went from 6 months to 3 weeks.

The shift:
You're not above prospects. You're not below them.

You're equals.

But YOU are the authority who guides the conversation.

Stop asking permission. 
Start leading.

It's the subtle shift in positioning that changes everything in sales.

Authority, not authoritarian.

My daughter sent me this picture yesterday❤️that's her on my back.  She's 25 today, and my son is 28

God has no place in business.

That’s what he told me.

Sadly, I operated that way for years, even though I believed in God.

I hired the best coaches. 
Attended the events. 
Spent tens of thousands chasing the strategy that would finally move the ceiling.

And then one day, after all of it, I sat quietly and realized something that stopped me cold.

I had built everything they told me to build.

And none of it meant anything to me anymore.

No fulfillment. 
No purpose. 
No sense that any of it actually mattered.

Just exhaustion dressed up as success.

That was the moment every strategy I had ever bought revealed its actual limit.

Because not one of them could answer the question I was actually living with.
Who am I, and why does any of this matter?

Here is what no course ever taught me.

You cannot build a transformed business from an unexamined identity.

Bottom line:

It's not about how you perform on a call. 
How you see yourself at 2 am when nobody is watching.

If that foundation is fractured, every strategy leaks.

Nothing is wrong with you.

You are operating from the wrong source.
All of it. 
The grind. The strategy. 
The tactics

Running on finite strength has a ceiling.

It always has.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says stop leaning on your own understanding.
Trust Him completely, and He will make your path clear.

That is not Sunday advice.

That is the most ruthlessly practical business instruction I have ever followed.

Ephesians 2:10 says you are His masterpiece.
Built with a specific purpose and specific gifts already prepared for you before you were born.

When you stop borrowing someone else's identity and start operating from the one He built into you, everything shifts.

Not incrementally.
Completely.

I have watched it happen in my clients over and over.
The fog lifts. 

Decisions become obvious. 
Revenue follows.

Not because they found a better tactic.

Because they stopped fighting from finite strength and started operating from something that has no ceiling.

To the person who commented, you are welcome here anytime.

To anyone not sure about God, 
I am only asking one thing.

If there is even a thread of curiosity, say this out loud.
"God, if you are real, speak to me."

That is all. 
You lose nothing.

He met me in my emptiness.
He will meet you in yours.

And if this is landing somewhere deep right now, that feeling is not an accident.

That is the beginning of something.

How to be transformed by renewing your mind.

I suppressed my emotions for 30 years

And didn’t realize the damage it was causing my soul.

I thought…

Push through. 
Stay strong. 
Suppress it.

That advice took me within 3 seconds of losing my life.

Here’s the 411...

My mom died. 
My dad died. 
I went through a divorce.

I'd been the top-producing sales rep for 10 years.

Breaking every record: 3-year, 5-year, 7-year, 10-year.

At a company with 14 locations.

But I'd built my identity on a house of cards.

My ego. 
My performance. 
The world's definition of success.
When the cards fell, I fell.

I'd suppressed emotions my whole life.

All of it exploded.

I sat on my floor with a gun loaded with hollow points.

Tapping the trigger harder and harder.

Just before pull number 3…

Bang bang bang💥

Someone started banging on my door.

Over and over.

I opened it.

This guy was out of breath.
He said, "God told me to come to your house right now."

If not for that knock at my door in 2004, I wouldn't be writing this post.

Here's what changed:

I learned to process emotions instead of suppressing them.

I learned to create new neural pathways through God's word

I developed the DAVID Framework from Psalm 13.

David goes from "God, why have You forgotten me?" to "I will sing the Lord's praise" in 6 verses.

He had a process.

Now I and my clients use it to regulate our emotions so they don't regulate us.

Things that used to consume me for weeks or months or even years… 

…now get processed in minutes.

It changes how you think and it shows you how to respond instead of react.

It allows you to have peace while building resilience.

The shift:
Suppressed emotions don't disappear.

They come back much uglier.

Processed emotions create peace.

It's the difference between reacting and responding.

You can't heal what you won't feel.

You can change how you think.

You can move from reacting to responding.

Romans 12:2):
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Did you notice something?

Transformation happens from renewing your mind…

…and David provides a framework to do that in Psalms… 

…and only when your mind is renewed will you be able to understand God's will.

Most salespeople lose the deal long before they ever get to the price.

Not because they had a bad solution. Because they never built a real connection.

Here is a methodology that will change how you sell forever.

Step 1: Build a genuine connection. Not surface-level rapport. A real human connection. If you skip this, every answer you get will be shallow and guarded.

Step 2: Understand the depth of their problem. What is it costing them? How is it preventing them from reaching a specific goal? And this is critical... how does it affect the decision-maker personally? Then determine the cost of inaction. Are they ready to solve this now, or just browsing?

Step 3: Recap everything in their own words. Not company speak. Their language. Their phrases. When you do this, something powerful happens on a subconscious level. You deepen the connection because they feel truly heard. Then ask one simple question: "Did I miss anything?" If you have done this right, you will get a reaction that tells you everything.

Step 4: Present your solution customized to their specific problem, their obstacle, and their goal. Address each one based on what they told you. If you do this correctly, the value you provide should far exceed your asking price.

Step 5: Ask three questions that change everything.

Question 1: "Based on where you are, where you want to go, and the problems you are facing... on a scale of 1 to 10, what is your confidence level that we can solve your problem and help you reach your goal?"

If they say 8 or above, they will likely become a client. If they say 8, ask "Why not a 7?" The first answer a prospect gives is rarely the real answer. Use what I call the 3X Formula and drill down with up to three additional questions to get true clarity.

Question 2: "Is there anything we have not covered today that you hoped we would?"

This is where most salespeople get blindsided. They present a solution, miss a key point, and then wonder why the prospect ghosted them. Weeks later they finally connect and hear, "You never addressed this, so we went with someone else." This question eliminates that entirely.

Question 3: "Is there anything based on our conversation today that gives you hesitation or pause?"

Listen. Then drill down again with the 3X Formula.

Here is why this matters. You are removing potential obstacles before they ever become objections. You are having this conversation while the prospect feels safe and open, not after you have presented the price when their walls go up and they are bracing for a close.

This is how you close more sales, in less time, with greater frequency.

Stop chasing. Start connecting.

Your meetings suck the life out of your team. 

I know because I sat through hundreds of them before I ever ran one.

One of the last companies I worked at before starting my business had a Monday morning sales meeting at 8:00 a.m.

Supposed to end at 9:00.
It never did.

Most weeks it ran an hour and a half. One day it went until 10:45.

Two hours and forty-five minutes.

No clear takeaway.
No action step.
No application.
Nothing to work on between that meeting and the next.

Just a long, slow energy drain disguised as leadership.

Here's what nobody said out loud but everyone felt:
We walked out worse than we walked in.

And I watched it happen. 

Good salespeople quietly checking out. 

Pipeline conversations dying. Morale leaking out of the room like air from a tire with a nail in it.

That meeting didn't develop anyone.

I would never run a meeting that made a salesperson feel the way those meetings made me feel.

Overcoming your biggest obstacle in...

A good sales rep walked into my office.

Not great. Good.

Good enough to keep the job. Good enough to avoid hard conversations. Good enough to stay invisible.

"Got it. Now we're going to destroy that story with something it can't survive."

**DIMENSION 2: THE FACTS**

Me “Strip out every emotion. What are the cold facts?"

Sales rep “I've sold for 12 years. Served over a thousand people."

I turned to his boss, sitting three feet away.

"What would you say about this Sam (sales rep)?"

Without hesitation: "He does an amazing job. I get compliments about them from clients and prospects constantly."

I looked back to Sam and said. **"The story you've been telling yourself is 180 degrees opposite of the truth. The facts just killed your fiction."**

Sam  “Oh."*

That "Oh" was the sound of a belief system cracking.

**DIMENSION 3: FUTURE SELF**

Me “Close your eyes. I want you to see yourself 15 years from now. You've reached your full potential. You're the person you know you can be. Really see them. Tell me when you've got it."

Sam…20 seconds later: "I got it."

Me “Now let that version of you speak to the person sitting here today. What do they say?"

The tone changed completely.

Sam “Those challenges are here to grow you. Don't let fear run the show. You are more capable than you've ever imagined."*

**THE RESULT:**

Every sales record the company had was broken in the next 3 months.

Not because of a new script.
Not because of a new close.

**Because they stopped believing a story that was never true.**

Regarding my wife.

I pulled up to my house, sitting on the water, the sun setting in a breathtaking display of colors. 

With flowers in my hand, I parked outside the front door, determined to make this evening special and honor my wife in a way that speaks to her heart.

As I rang the doorbell, anticipation welled up inside me. The door slowly opened, and there she stood, a vision of beauty. My heart raced with excitement, and in that moment, I whispered a heartfelt thank you to God for bringing her into my life.

Our hands reached out simultaneously, intertwining like two puzzle pieces made for each other. 

Pulling her close with a gentle strength, I felt an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude. Our lips met in a kiss that left me breathless, confirming the deep connection we shared.

Walking hand in hand towards the car, I couldn't help but feel like the luckiest person alive. Opening the door for her, I wanted to show her my unwavering devotion. 

"Just one second"

I said, stepping back into the house. Falling to my knees, I marveled at the incredible wife and the beautiful home God had blessed me with. I offered my praise, acknowledging His belief in me, His patience, and the abundance of wisdom, love, discipline, and power He bestowed upon me.

With a renewed sense of purpose, I rejoined my wife, ready to embark on an adventure together. 

As I sat in the car, she turned to me and said, "thanking God again?" I smiled and replied, "Yep." Her eyes sparkled, and she softly whispered, "Me too."

As we drove off to one of our favorite places, I couldn't help but reflect on the serendipity that brought us together. 

Our love story, written in Heaven, is a testament to the power of faith, hope, and the transformative power of God's divine transformational power. 

May it inspire others to believe in the extraordinary possibilities that await them.

This hasn't happened, but I believe it will one day as I operate from faith. 

It's not about creating our own destiny, but living God's destiny for our lives.  He's the creator, and when we use the gifts and abilities he's given us for His purpose.  Good things happen.  

Struggles will come, and I've faced many of them as I’m sure you have…but those challenges have drawn me closer to God and matured me in many ways.

I'm grateful for what God's doing in my life. 

You are where you are because of how you see yourself.  Most operate out of the past, which keeps them stuck, but if you want to transform yourself.

You need to operate out of your future self to break the chains of your past keeping you stuck  in mediocrity .

God has a plan for you and me, and it's our purpose to align with his will in our lives.
