My year as a Volunteer Mentor during the COVID pandemic taught me that mentoring and leadership is what I was called to do, not teaching in a school. In my year as a mentor I worked with 11-16 year olds from low economic backgrounds to inspire, motivate and support children to be the best they can be. Some of the children I work with lack confidence and are anxious about the future.

Me and Emma-Louise Smith formed a volunteer-led initiative called Project Creativity, which is now in motion to help more children and volunteers across the UK to develop their leadership skills for many years to come.
