Ever walked into a networking event and felt completely out of place? Maybe you’re standing there, clutching a drink, wondering how everyone else seems to just get it—effortlessly making connections while you’re stuck overthinking your next move. The truth? Networking isn't just about "putting yourself out there." It's about overcoming the barriers that hold you back in the first place. 💭 Is it the fear of rejection? 💭 Not knowing what to say? 💭 Feeling like you're taking without giving? The struggle is real. But so is the solution. 🚀 This carousel breaks down the biggest barriers to networking—and how to move past them. Because once you do, you’ll realize that networking isn’t about forcing conversations. It’s about creating real opportunities. #NetworkingTips #CareerGrowth

❌ “Can I pick your brain?” ❌ “Hope you're well — can you refer me to a job?” Let’s be honest — most of us were never taught how to network well. And especially not with strangers online. The result? Awkward messages, ghosted chats, transactional small talk. But networking doesn’t have to feel like something sleasy and transactional. ✅ It can feel human. Curious. Generous. Easy. A lot of people I talk to struggle with networking and yet this is THE most powerful tool you have when looking for a job, arriving in a new country or developing / changing uour career. So I turned I developed this Step-by-Step Networking Guide 👇 Slide through if you’ve ever wondered: ❓What should I say when reaching out? ❓How do I network without sounding salesy? ❓What if I’m introverted or neurodivergent? ❓How do I build real connections online? Save it. Share it. And let me know — which step felt most helpful? 😊 #linkedinguide #careercoach #networking

I used to dread networking events. I felt like I had to ‘sell’ something—my skills, my expertise, my worth. The pressure to impress made every conversation feel forced and transactional. But over time, I learned that authentic networking isn’t a tactic—it’s a mindset. It’s not about perfect pitches or rehearsed answers. It’s about showing up as your true self, being curious, and having conversations that feel real, not forced. Here’s what I remind myself every time I connect with someone new: 👉 Am I listening more than I’m speaking? 👉 Am I being genuinely curious? 👉 Am I showing up as ME, not just as a ‘role’ or ‘title’? When you let go of the pressure to impress, you start to build relationships that actually matter. #authenticnetworking #relationshipbuilding #careergrowth #networkingtips

For some, networking feels natural—walking into a room, striking up conversations, and making connections with ease. For others, it's exhausting. If small talk drains you, group settings feel chaotic, or unspoken social rules seem confusing, you’re not alone. Many neurodivergent thinkers experience this too. The good news? You don’t have to force yourself into a mold. You can network on your own terms. Instead of trying to be "more outgoing," focus on what works for you: 💡 Writing instead of talking (emails, LinkedIn messages) 💡 One-on-one chats instead of big groups 💡 Planning your approach ahead of time Networking isn’t just for extroverts. It’s for anyone willing to build connections—in a way that feels right for them. What’s your go-to networking strategy? Let’s discuss in the comments! 👇 #NetworkingTips #Neurodiversity #AuthenticConnections

💬 Ever left a conversation feeling like you networked but didn’t connect? Here’s the secret: better questions = deeper conversations. Too often, we jump straight into “What do you do?” or “Where do you work?” — and miss the chance to actually connect with the person behind the title. Instead, try asking questions that spark stories, reflect curiosity, and open space for authentic exchange. 👇 Here are some of my go-to conversation starters that help you move beyond surface-level networking and into real connection. ✨ Save this for your next coffee chat, event, or even a DM on LinkedIn What’s a question that’s helped you build meaningful relationships? Share it in the comments! #networking #meaningfulconnections #careercoach

Ever had a great networking conversation… and then let it fade into oblivion? The magic of networking isn’t just in the first meeting—it’s in the follow-up. But most people either overdo it or don’t do it at all. Here’s the secret: Following up isn’t about pushing. It’s about continuing the conversation. 👉 Reference something from your last chat—it shows you were engaged. 👉 Provide value instead of just asking for something. 👉 Don’t panic if they don’t reply immediately. People are busy. Strong networks aren’t built overnight. They grow through consistent, meaningful interactions. So, who’s one person you need to follow up with today? 🚀 #networking #followup #careercoach

Visibility isn’t vanity - it’s jmpact! Yesterday I had the privilege of guiding an incredible group of women through a workshop hosted by the Female Ventures , with amazing participation from students at TIAS School for Business and Society. Thank you Beata van Velzen for invitation. Our key theme? Visibility.😇 Not just being seen—but being seen as the leader you already are. We explored what it means to be seen—not just for what we do, but for who we are when we show up with clarity, confidence, and intention. From rewriting old narratives to standing tall in our “Adult” energy, the room was full of bold insights, real stories, and brave reflections. Visibility isn’t vanity—it’s impact. It’s how opportunities find you. It’s how your voice becomes influence. And it starts with one brave step. To everyone that showed up last night - I am looking forward to seeing you shine! Thanks for your energy and commitment! #Visibility #Leadership #WomenInBusiness #PersonalBranding #CareerGrowth #Empowerment #DoSoCoaching

I often tell my clients: If the door doesn’t open, try the window. Career transitions don’t always follow a clear path. Sometimes, the opportunity you want isn’t available through the usual routes—so you have to find another way in. I’ve seen this happen time and time again. The ‘perfect’ next step wasn’t always available—so my clients made their own opportunities: 🪟 From Temporary to Permanent One client took on a maternity cover contract, knowing it wasn’t a long-term role. But instead of treating it as a stopgap, they gave it their all, built strong relationships, and proved their value. By the time the contract ended, the company couldn’t imagine letting them go—and they got hired full-time. 🪟 From Side Projects to a Full-Time Job Another client moved to the Netherlands before securing a full-time role. Instead of waiting, they took on freelance and side projects to build experience in the local market. Those projects not only helped financially but also expanded their network—soon, a full-time opportunity followed. 🪟 Turning an Internal Move into a Relocation A client wanted to move to the Netherlands but wasn’t sure how to make it happen. Instead of applying externally, they took the initiative to explore an internal relocation. Their proactive approach paid off, and they transitioned smoothly into a new role and a new country. And later on also to a new company. Sometimes, the best opportunities don’t come through a job posting. They come from bold moves, creative problem-solving, and being open to other ways in. Have you ever found a career opportunity in an unexpected way? I’d love to hear your story! #careercoach #dosocoaching

Our very first live networking event with my coaching clients took place recently —and wow, it was pure magic. We shared meaningful conversations in small groups, celebrated recent job wins, and connected around growth, change, and professional development. Career transitions, stepping into new roles, or simply figuring out what’s next—it can feel overwhelming at times. And when you’re an expat, navigating a new culture, language, and job market, it can feel doubly hard. That’s why this evening meant so much to me. It reminded me—again—that we as humans are not meant to do this alone. Seeing this group come together with such openness, courage, and warmth made me feel so proud and grateful to do the work I do. It’s a true privilege to walk alongside people as they grow, stretch, and step into new chapters. To everyone who came —thank you. You made the evening unforgettable. Here’s to more of this in 2025. Community. Clarity. Courage. And the magic of showing up—for yourself, and for each other.
