Eric Nyikwagh is an innovative development and humanitarian expert with a passion for food security, sustainable rural development and youth engagement with over nine years’ experience. Eric's dedication to his craft is evident in his academic achievements and career trajectory. Eric's demonstrated expertise in project design, proposal development, program strategy, humanitarian programming and implementation, has enabled him successfully manage a number of high impact donor-funded projects to date. In his current role as the Senior Program Manager at Caritas Nigeria, he acquired extensive understanding of administrative, programmatic, operational and technical aspects of running a humanitarian project in close collaboration with consortium partners. He equally provides strategic guidance and leadership for the intervention project, including setting and implementing intervention objectives, activity plans, project budget and oversees staff supervision. Eric works closely with the Senior management, operations and program teams to deliver humanitarian aid products and services to the most vulnerable persons in North East Nigeria through integrated and inclusive approaches across hard-to-reach communities. He has successfully handled multiple complex tasks simultaneously with an iterative mindset, and a willingness to explore innovative ideas that culminated into surpassing stakeholder expectations and meeting all key deliverables set by the funders. In addition to his agricultural expertise, Eric is also a natural leader and has held several positions of responsibility. Worthy of note, he previously served as the Country Representative of Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) Nigeria, where he worked to ensure stronger youth participation across policy frameworks, food systems and agricultural value chains. Despite his busy schedule, Eric remains committed to his personal growth and development. He is a published author and is well versed in areas of youth mentorship, personal growth, career development, and leadership. He volunteers to coach youths to become highly resourceful persons. Eric is a thought leader and regularly shares his insightful views on key issues of concern.
