Erik MacKinnon's Linkedin Analytics

I'm Erik MacKinnon, a relentless strategist, value creator and entrepreneur who launched and successfully exited my first startup during the original 'dot-com boom.' My passion: helping B2B companies leverage modern demand creation, capture and conversion playbooks to accelerate revenue growth. Currently, I 'm on sabbatical, hatching my next plan. My last role was as the senior Enterprise Account Executive at Refine Labs, where I crafted solutions to help B2B companies accelerate their revenue growth. Prior to this role, I led the digital marketing team at ThoughtExchange, where I helped organizations lead challenging conversations about the things that matter. Before joining ThoughtExchange, I served as Chief Marketing Officer at Blockmason, after working as a paid media and digital strategy consultant to SAP, the world's premier enterprise software company. In 2012, I founded Gravytrain, a boutique content marketing and digital advertising agency, where I served as the Chief Executive Officer until 2017, when the company closed its doors. In 2014, I completed a five-year Pharmaceutical Sciences degree at the University of British Columbia while managing my entrepreneurial ventures. During my time at UBC, I chaired the Alma Mater Society's Business and Administration Governance Board and served as a two-term member of the AMS Budget Committee. I was also named the 2013 British Columbia Student Entrepreneur of the Year by Enactus Canada and was an active Phi Gamma Delta fraternity brother. Prior to my studies, I spent five years working with Entrepreneurs' Organization as Emerging Programs Manager, where I played a key role in the rapid growth of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards and the EO Accelerator program. As a valued advisor, I have mentored dozens of startups and young businesses, both informally and as part of my relationship with the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (now Futurpreneur), including standouts Tale, Part Time Pooch, and GymTechnik. Outside of entrepreneurship, I actively contribute to the local community and have served multi-year terms as a board and finance committee member of Kitsilano Neighbourhood House and the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC.
