Senior Executive Consultant for Aviation in the APAC region, including Changi Terminal 5. 

- Senior aviation consultant for safety and risk within Surbana Jurong and their clients.  
- Changi Terminal 5: Joint Venture implementation of the detailed Risk Management programme for design and engineering with Arup, Mott Macdonald and architect KPF (including safety and aerodrome risks) of the new Changi Terminal / airfield design, programme and associated works. 
- Working collaboratively and in detail with our clients, Changi Airport Group, and our consortium partners on interface works across key T5 packages and stages of the $9bn dollar project to create new infrastructure such as the terminals, tunnels and aprons to increase Changi capacity up to 150m passengers by the early 2030’s.  
- Liaison and delivery of workshops with external regulators (CAAS) and other key departments and stakeholders.  
- Oversight for technical Aerodrome Safety / operational specifications and risk requirements within the Aviation Department, including internal ERM and Anti-Bribery frameworks.
- Significant contribution to tender submissions and other business development activities in APAC region,
- Detailed civil and military consultation services for a variety of SJ clients and projects.

Senior Executive Aviation and Risk (APAC Region)

Head of Operations (later Managing Director), brought in to fully overhaul the operation to deliver a modern, profitable and improved business ready to be renationalised by the UK government in 2018, whilst also improving throughput and improve customer service in line with growth. 

The role required to be motivating to lead the team through the uncertain period as the end of the concession approached, and working with all stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcome for all involved. Core duties of this role included:

• Ultimate responsibility for the entire tolling operation and tolling systems maintenance at both Severn Crossings between England and Wales, amassing a significant portion of the clients c.£98m per annum turnover.
• Full P&L ownership of the UK company. Board / Head Office liaison.
• Budgeting, planning and forecasting, taking in to account different commercial opportunities.
• Development of risk, resilience and process management to ISO standards (namely 9001 & 31000) through a detailed Integrated Management System (IMS) to protect and manage the business. Resilience and crisis planning. 
• Complex Matrix Management structure of staff. Significant unionised workforce requiring a thoughtful, supportive and strategic approach to change management.   
• Liaison with Government Representatives, the client and board regarding the operation and ‘End of Concession’ planning, working to tight timeframes.
• Setting of strategic objectives across the organisation to deliver change to the highest standards of service and efficiency possible.
• High level, decisive and robust decision making in a time-bound and challenging / changeable environment that has seen significant growth.
• Setting of the annual forecasts, budget and targets of the company.

Overview of Safety for all passengers and staff, and airport compliance/liaison with regulatory bodies. Write and disseminate robust business and safety cases and  promulgate risk mitigation to applicable owners. Constant Stakeholder/Third-Party liaison and communication. Departmental and People Management responsibilities including training programmes and maintenance of competence. Management of tight budgets, including overview of project management and purchasing. Exploration of new and innovative ways to increase company revenue. 
Close working with other departments including Environmental / Planning, Development, Commercial and PR departments to meet the company’s wider objectives. An ability to clearly communicate and influence all levels of structure is essential.

The Bristol Operations Team was selected by the CAA to perform an EASA Transition Trial. Following a successful process, Bristol was the first airport in Europe to transfer to the new regulations and Certification.
