I am a young Environmental Engineer and Scientist with a keen interest in Research for Development, focusing on sustainable development, particularly in the areas of groundwater management and environmental hazards. Currently, I am pursuing doctoral studies at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering, University of Padova, Italy, to investigate the vulnerability of coastal cities and mangroves to the combined effects of land subsidence and relative sea-level rise. My Master's research examined the utilisation of rock-water interactions to elucidate nutrient generation, mobility, and availability at soil horizons, as well as nutrient depletion and low crop yields within sedimentary and igneous watersheds in Northern Cameroon. I demonstrate a strong commitment to research, teaching, and science communication, engaging in conferences, environmental education, workshops, and online programs for young scientists. In recognition of my efforts to promote Sustainable Development, I have been designated as a Green Ambassador for Climate Change in Africa 2020, Ambassador of Sustainability, and Fellow of the Young African Landscape Leadership Program 2022. In addition, I was awarded a fully funded PhD Scholarship at the University of Padova, Italy (2022) as well as declined consecutive PhD scholarships in 2021 and 2022 at the Regional Center for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES), University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani-Ghana. Since 2015, I have participated in numerous youth and professional organizations with the objective of networking and collaborating with experts from diverse global regions who share similar goals in addressing environmental and developmental challenges. I currently serve as the chair of the communication committee of the UNESCO Groundwater Youth Network (GWYN). Member: Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG); American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES); American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI) of ASCE; UNESCO Groundwater Youth Network (GWYN); Esri’s Young Professional Network (YPN); World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW); Community Surface Dynamics Modelling System (CSDMS); Rural Water Supply Network for Young Professionals (RWSN); Global Forum for Sustainable Rural Development (GFSRD); Global Ambassadors of Sustainability (GAoS); and International Soil Carbon Network (ISCN).
