What’s the biggest issue that stops nonprofits from raising more money? Leaders, fundraisers, and board members work so hard, but it’s often separately - without a unified goal, plan, or direction. Fundraising teams can’t scale or succeed when they’re disconnected from the mission and each other. And if internal teams aren’t aligned, how can we expect our donors and supporters to feel part of our work? I work with nonprofits to nurture and retain their donors while helping teams connect more deeply with each other. Through fundraising and Emotional Connection (EmC) training and comprehensive fund development strategy, I help nonprofits raise more money and deepen their capacity for transformational relationships. Personally, from founding a nonprofit organization in Malawi to being a part of larger development teams in California – I’ve experienced a wide range of nonprofit set ups. While I’m grateful for the incredible moments, I also experienced an array of factors that led to burnout. I’m personally committed to helping nonprofits do things differently as a consultant and coach. ❌ As a new front-line fundraiser, I was expected to hit a monetary goal but there were no systems in place to nurture donors and build long-term relationships. Instead, what if every donor felt connected so that fundraising felt transformational (not transactional?) ❌ As a nonprofit leader, I developed campaign materials but couldn’t always get clear direction from other departments on our greatest needs. Instead, what if your team was unified around your nonprofit’s goals and service areas? ❌ As a board member, I wanted to share my perspective but was met with “this is how we’ve always done it.” Instead, what if all of your board members felt seen, heard, and started to contribute in a deeper way? Change is always possible, but it starts with self-reflection and understanding how we want to show up in the world: as organizations AND as leaders. After working together, my clients raise more year over year, get 100% of their board to fundraise (for the first time), and see ongoing staff engagement and satisfaction.
