Ever since I was little I've loved all things outdoors and business related. I used to make mud pies in the garden and sell them to my imaginary friends at the age of 5. I've learned so much since then and went on to make at least three "proper" friends and start three businesses, not so imaginary, flipping hard work but successful, which I'm proud of, BUT, building something that has impact on more than just my own life, that makes other people feel proud of themselves as well and helps put a smile on someone's face has always been on my wish list. Nowadays I get the opportunity to do that and combine my love of walking and do a lot of good for individuals, for businesses, for the planet and most importantly for UK charities too by building the walking app trundl. It's still blinking hard work, I laugh at being classed as a tech start up at 56 years old! It's usually seven days a week. Do I love it - YES! Do I love what I think we can achieve for health, charity and the environment even more, absolutely. We are a purposeful, passionate social business. We're building a community of everyday walkers, dog walkers, lunchtime strollers, walking meeting advocates and serious hikers. trundl exercises your body and your kindness on a regular basis. We're changing the way you may think about your walks because with trundl, it's a walk. But better. I'm at my happiest, and mentally most productive, trundling out in the fresh air thinking up new ideas and strategies to make trundl a community of every day walkers, where we can all be very proud of what we achieve together. This is the hardest business I have ever run, it's been challenging, frustrating, hugely stressful, exciting, satisfying, and very humbling. We're not where we want to be yet but with courage, belief and kindness, our growing, talented team will win out one step at a time if we have anything to do with it. Thank you to each and every one of you who has given a helping hand, no matter what that may have been. And no, I wrote it all myself, not with an Ai bot.
