It’s my goal that every person I have a conversation with walks away knowing more than they knew before about all things project management offices (PMOs) and project management. As LinkedIn Learning’s first instructor on the topic, I’ve had a very rewarding journey helping over 100k+ current and aspiring project management leaders apply my lessons to further their careers. Where Parwaaz Consulting comes in is outside of the online classroom. We help organizations set up & optimize their PMOs, empower PMO Leaders through our coaching programs designed specifically for them, and provide customized workshops that uplift capabilities and guide teams to conquer the art & science of leading projects. Most often leaders come to me when they need a step-by step approach for developing their PMOs or taking them to the next level. Other times leadership is looking for an ‘outside’ perspective to act as a sounding board and provide accountability support through their PMO journey. And in some cases, they want to not only focus on developing their teams' core project management skills that help deliver projects effectively and consistently, but also the intangibles that come with it, such as change, influencing, negotiating & conflict management. Suffice to say, I really nerd out about this stuff and have a passion for engaging with organizations to deliver them a clearer vision of the road ahead, a greater sense of calm, and a noticeable increase in productivity across all teams. One of the biggest challenges business leaders face is holding people accountable without feeling like a micromanager. The good news? Accountability isn't about control, it's about clarity, ownership, and follow-through. As an entrepreneurial organization, we help teams build a culture where accountability is second nature. Here's how you can make it happen 👇 1️⃣ Get Clear on Roles & Responsibilities When people don't know what's expected, they can't be accountable. Use an Accountability Chart to define who owns what. No more finger-pointing or dropped balls. ❌ 2️⃣ Measure What Matters A weekly Scorecard with clear, trackable numbers creates transparency. If something is off, you can address it early before it spirals into a bigger problem. 3️⃣ Set Quarterly Priorities (Rocks) Give your team 90-day targets that align with company goals. Rocks drive focus and commitment. When someone owns a Rock, it gets done. 💪 4️⃣ Create a Culture of Open & Honest Communication Accountability thrives in direct conversations. If someone isn't delivering, address it quickly and constructively. No side-stepping. No sugarcoating. Just truth and solutions. 5️⃣ Leverage Weekly Level 10 Meetings These meetings keep everyone aligned, reviewing progress and solving issues in real-time. If a team member isn't following through, the meeting naturally calls it out. 6️⃣ Assess People Objectively If someone consistently underperforms, use the People Analyzer to determine if they truly fit your company's Core Values and expectations. The right people in the right seats make accountability effortless. The best leaders don't force accountability; they create an environment where it's expected, embraced, and celebrated.
