It’s my goal that every person I have a conversation with walks away knowing more than they knew before about all things project management offices (PMOs) and project management. As LinkedIn Learning’s first instructor on the topic, I’ve had a very rewarding journey helping over 100k+ current and aspiring project management leaders apply my lessons to further their careers. Where Parwaaz Consulting comes in is outside of the online classroom. We help organizations set up & optimize their PMOs, empower PMO Leaders through our coaching programs designed specifically for them, and provide customized workshops that uplift capabilities and guide teams to conquer the art & science of leading projects. Most often leaders come to me when they need a step-by step approach for developing their PMOs or taking them to the next level. Other times leadership is looking for an ‘outside’ perspective to act as a sounding board and provide accountability support through their PMO journey. And in some cases, they want to not only focus on developing their teams' core project management skills that help deliver projects effectively and consistently, but also the intangibles that come with it, such as change, influencing, negotiating & conflict management. Suffice to say, I really nerd out about this stuff and have a passion for engaging with organizations to deliver them a clearer vision of the road ahead, a greater sense of calm, and a noticeable increase in productivity across all teams. We’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing partners among the likes of Groupon and Replenium. Some of the most rewarding testimonials include; "The results of our engagement with Hussain were a nearly 180-degree turnaround from where the PMO operated previously“ - Judi B. (VP, Global Support), US "We doubled the speed of our PMO setup with Hussain as our PMO Coach... our organization went from no projects getting completed to a 73% success rate on strategic initiatives“ - Nathan R. (PMO Director), US "... to have Hussain partnering with us for a workshop series with several of our incredible PM and client-facing teams... grateful for his work and passion to help businesses thrive, scale and serve clients with excellence!"- Stephanie S. (HR Partner), US If you’re curious what a partnership with us could look like or just want to chat about project management in general - then let’s connect!

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻 · 𝗛𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀.  (𝘚𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘰𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥'𝘴 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘢 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘦) 🧚Once upon a time, we launched a process-driven, risk-management-heavy PMO thinking it would make the company run like a well-oiled machine. Instead? We accidentally built a bureaucratic nightmare. Everything slowed down. Execs told us their departments were complaining. We weren’t enablers—we were the red tape brigade. So 𝘸𝘦 𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺—then blew it up and redesigned the PMO using human-centered design to serve the business, not suffocate it. 📌 The result? ✅ Projects sped up. ✅ Collaboration improved. ✅ Execs actually started listening to us. Turns out, when you prove your value, people stop treating you like a process cop. 🔹 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 (#𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆, 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁) 💡 Executives don’t think in frameworks—they think in bottom-line impact. 🔹 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘬. They care how much risk was avoided and how much money was saved. 🔹 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦. They care about the strategic outcomes delivered. 🔹 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘗𝘔𝘖 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮. They care how it helps the company win. The most influential PMO leaders don’t just track execution. They own the business narrative—turning strategy into action and translating action back into results that executives crave. 🔹 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗠𝗢 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 A title doesn’t give you influence. Managing the right narrative does. 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮. They’re the ones who shape conversations, frame decisions, and speak in a way that executives actually listen to. PMO leaders sometimes assume executives will get as excited about systems, governance, and tracking tools as we do. 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘵: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵. What they will get excited about? How those systems drive real business impact. 🚀 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁? 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝘁. Remote work is a blessing. (but only if you invest in enablement). Flexibility. Freedom. Focus. Remote work delivers all of that—and more. But here’s the catch: Too many companies are trying to support distributed teams. With outdated, inefficient systems like: 📞 Endless remote calls & meetings. 🔁 Explaining the same process over and over again.   👋 “Just tap someone on the shoulder” (except… you can’t). Sound familiar? The best remote teams don’t rely on memory. They rely on efficient systems and documentation. And they make learning effortless, repeatable, and scalable. That’s why I love tools like Tango. With one click, Tango turns your screen activity into a clean, visual step-by-step guide. 📸 No screenshots to paste. 📝 No time wasted explaining. 🚀 Just clarity, right when someone needs it. Train once. Repeat never. If you're embracing remote work but haven’t invested in enablement—you’re only halfway there. 👉 Curious? Start with Tango. #tangopartner -- 👍 + ♻️ Like + Repost to help others succeed working remotely. 🔔 Follow me (Hussain Bandukwala) for more content like this.

Drowning in tasks but progress feels minimal? To-do list growing faster than things getting done? →  Exhaustion →  Missed priorities →  Endless meetings →  Constant firefighting →  Late nights that still don’t feel enough →  A calendar filled with work that doesn’t move the needle Sound familiar? That’s because many project managers mistake activity for impact. The result? A cycle of busyness that feels productive—but isn’t. Here are 3 ways to break free and get real results: ✅ 1. Say ‘no’ to low-value work. 👉 Example: Decline that “quick sync” meeting that has no clear agenda and solve it via email instead. ✅ 2. Protect your thinking time. 👉 Example: Block 90-minute deep work slots on your calendar—and guard them like your most important meeting. ✅ 3. Optimize before you overwork. 👉 Example: Before spending hours on a report, ask: "What’s the minimum info my audience actually needs?" This is productive laziness—the secret to working less but achieving more. Peter Taylor, the author of The Lazy Project Manager, is breaking this down in an exclusive masterclass for project managers who want to win without burning out. 🎓 The Lazy Winning Project Manager: The Art of Productive Laziness 📅 March 13, 2025 | ⏰ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM EST 💻 Online—Join from anywhere! How to delegate like a pro: Freeing yourself to think strategically. 🚨 Signs You Need to Delegate More 🚨 1️⃣ You’re drowning in tasks – Your to-do list never shrinks, only grows.   2️⃣ Your team isn’t growing – If you're doing everything, they aren’t developing new skills.   3️⃣ You’re constantly firefighting – Instead of planning ahead, you’re always reacting. 4️⃣ Decisions bottleneck at you – If projects stall when you’re unavailable, that’s a red flag. 5️⃣ You work long hours, but results stay the same – Hard work ≠ Smart work. 6️⃣ You find yourself micromanaging – If you check every small detail, you haven’t fully delegated. 7️⃣ Your team hesitates to make decisions – They rely on you for every little approval. 8️⃣ You’re spending time on tasks others could handle – Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should. ✅ Tips for Delegating Like a Pro ✅ 📌 1. Define the Outcome, Not Just the Task →  Bad Delegation: “Create a report.” →  Good Delegation: “Deliver a report that highlights key risks and recommendations.” 📌 2. Delegate Based on Strengths and Development Areas →  Example: “Lisa is great with data—let’s have her take ownership of analytics.” 📌 3. Give Authority, Not Just Responsibility →  Example: “John, you own vendor negotiations—make the final call.” 📌 4. Set Clear Expectations on Quality and Deadlines →  Example: “I need this client deck polished and ready for review by Friday at 3 PM.” 📌 5. Use Checkpoints, Not Constant Check-ins →  Example: “Let’s touch base midway to see if you need any help.” 📌 6. Automate or Outsource What Doesn’t Need Your Attention →  Example: “We can use an AI tool to summarize reports instead of manually reading them all.” 📌 7. Let Go of Perfectionism →  Example: “It doesn’t have to be how I would do it—just good enough to get the job done.” 📌 8. Teach Before You Delegate Complex Tasks →  Example: “I’ll walk you through the first time, then you take the lead next.” 📌 9. Encourage Ownership & Decision-Making →  Example: “You don’t need to ask me every time—trust your judgment.” 📌 10. Provide Feedback to Improve Future Delegation →  Example: “Next time, focus more on the key takeaways rather than all the details.” -- 👍 + ♻️ Like + Repost to help PMOs (& others)  conquer delegation 🔔 Follow me (Hussain Bandukwala) for more content like this

“Setting up a PMO is easy!” (said no one ever). Here’s why. PMO leaders get: → stretched too thin → focused on wrong priorities → role without prior experience → bombarded with expectations → (and also) given no expectations → afraid to fall into common missteps → started without setting expectations → into it without engaging key stakeholders → into execution mode without the planning If you want to: → Get a job as a PMO leader → Setup a PMO → Resurrect it → Optimize it You need to remember one (1) thing: Create a PMO roadmap using organizational change management as its base to set (and manage) expectations - and control the narrative. 💡 Use my PMO Setup Guide for FREE to do it. 📕 ⚡ And join over 50,000 others who’ve benefited from it. Ever feel like your PMO gives great advice… … but no one listens? ⤵️ PMOs are meant to be advisors, not just administrators. But too often, their recommendations go unheard. 🚨 Why People Ignore PMOs: ❌ Too many rules, too little flexibility → E.g. “Why do we need five approvals just to make a small project change?” ❌ Advice isn’t tied to real business impact → E.g. “The PMO keeps asking for updates, but how does this help us hit revenue targets?” ❌ They see PMOs as blockers, not enablers → E.g. “We can’t move forward until the PMO approves yet another form.” ❌ PMOs speak 'project language' instead of 'business language' → E.g. “We’re talking about customer growth, and they’re talking about phase gates.” ✅ How to Fix It: ✔ Partner with leaders to solve their real challenges → E.g. Instead of “Here’s the governance checklist,” ask “What’s slowing you down, and how can we help?” ✔ Cut bureaucracy and focus on what truly matters → E.g. Instead of “You must follow all steps in our framework,” say “Let’s tailor this to fit your team’s needs.” ✔ Speak in value and outcomes, not processes → E.g. Instead of “We need a risk register,” say “This will help prevent cost overruns.” ✔ Show early wins to prove your worth → E.g. Instead of “We’re rolling out a new PMO structure,” highlight “This new prioritization method saved 10% of project costs.” 💡 What’s your best tip for making PMOs more influential? Just starting as a PMO Leader? Here’s your step-by-step guide to your 1st week. Week One isn’t about fixing everything. It’s about setting the foundation. Follow this plan to make an impact without getting overwhelmed. 🔹 Day 1: Get Grounded & Gather Intel ✅ Request access to PM tools, reports, and documentation. ✅ Meet your leader to confirm expectations and PMO priorities. ✅ Review PMO materials to understand governance and key projects. ✅ Send an intro message or set up short calls with key stakeholders. 🔹 Day 2: Understand the Landscape & Build Relationships ✅ Attend a live project meeting to observe team dynamics. ✅ List top pain points, bottlenecks, and recurring challenges. ✅ Review the project portfolio to identify critical projects and risks. ✅ Meet with project sponsors and business leaders to gather insights. 🔹 Day 3: Assess & Set Priorities ✅ Schedule a short PMO check-in with key teams. ✅ Map out how projects are tracked and identify gaps. ✅ Spot where the PMO can provide the most immediate value. ✅ Define communication expectations for status updates and reporting. 🔹 Day 4: Take Action & Show Impact ✅ Draft a simple 30-60-90 day focus roadmap. ✅ Validate your initial priorities with leadership. ✅ Step in to address a pressing challenge or risk area. ✅ Fix one visible issue, like improving a report or process. 🔹 Day 5: Reflect, Adjust & Build Trust ✅ Gather early feedback. ✅ Refine your approach based on stakeholder input. ✅ Communicate small wins to leadership and teams. ✅ Set priorities and plan out key actions for Week 2 & beyond. 💡 PMO leaders, what’s one thing you wish you had known in your first week? Convincing execs to invest in a PMO? Here are 5 strategies you can use. Too often, leadership sees a PMO as a bureaucracy rather than a business driver. You hear: ❌ “We don’t need a PMO.” ❌ “PMOs slow things down.” ❌ “We already have project managers.” But what if NOT having a PMO is what’s actually slowing us down? 📉 X% of our projects are missing deadlines. 📉 X% over budget last quarter. 📉 X% of strategic initiatives stalled. 💡 The solution isn’t working harder—it’s working smarter. A PMO provides visibility, consistency, and control. ➡️ So how do you get buy-in? 👉 1. Show the ROI – “X% reduction in delays saves us $X.” 👉 2. Speak to their pain points – “We’re constantly firefighting. A PMO prevents the fires before they start.” 👉 3. Show quick wins – “Let’s start lean. Give me 90 days to show impact.” 👉 4. Use competitive pressure – “Our competitors already have PMOs. Are we falling behind?” 👉 5. Remove the fear of saying yes – “This isn’t bureaucracy. It’s business optimization.” 📌 A PMO isn’t just about managing projects—it’s about accelerating business success. 💬 What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced convincing leadership? -- 👍 + ♻️ Like + Repost if it resonates with you. 🔔 Follow me (Hussain Bandukwala) for more content like this.

Great project managers don’t just manage their projects. They manage their energy. But if your days feel like a constant grind of meetings, fire drills, and never-ending to-do lists… … you’re not managing your energy, you’re burning it out. Burnout doesn’t just come from overwork  It comes from: ❌ Constant task switching between stakeholder demands and execution  ❌ Always being "available" instead of protecting deep work time  ❌ Managing everything except your own workload Want to stay effective without exhaustion? Here’s how: 1 - Focus on a ‘Success List,’ Not a To-Do List 2 - Set an ‘Energy Budget’ for Meetings 3 - Use a ‘Hard Stop’ Ritual for Your Workday 4 - Stop Treating All Tasks as Equal 5 - Reduce ‘Mental Clutter’ with Strategic Ignorance 6 - Minimize Context Switching 7 - Replace Hustle Guilt with Strategic Downtime (🔽 Swipe through the carousel below for details 🔽) Project managers don’t need more hours in the day. They need better ways to use them. What would you add to this list? 👇 -- 👍 + ♻️ Like + Repost to help PMs master their energy management. 🔔 Follow me (Hussain Bandukwala) for more content like this 💡 I’m organizing a masterclass on how to get real results without the burnout. 🔗 Learn more: Link in the comments below 👇
