Product Development Consultant

-Building relationships with C-level executives, high net worth clients and managing accounts for companies such as Barclays Premier, Institute of Directors, ICAEW and Amazon Business.

-Working alongside Direct Commercial team to develop a strategy to grow the business and bring bodies from the emerging InsurTech, FinTech, Blockchain & Technology sector to meet Vision 2020 target.

-Acted as block-chain consultant for Hiscox & London Block Exchange to liaise with C-level executives from both parties and find a solution to create an insurance package that aligned with trading security, hacking, DevSecOps, and cloud management for the company. Solutions included education regarding cryptographic encryption, content delivery, cloud servicing and multi-layer dynamic authentication (Akamai, Rackspace, Microsoft Azure, AlphaPoint).

- Consult from back-end/operations perspective  to develop a more efficient CRM system for existing and future leads & pipelines.  

- Establish Partnership liaison and secure Proof of Concept for General Data Protection Regulation, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and challenged.

I ran a design & marketing agency for 7 years at $350K/yr & almost burned out.

We 100% relied on referrals:

We got clients through SEO & word of mouth.

- Clients through friends
- Clients through partners
- Clients from disgruntled competitors

We'd say yes to everyone and anyone.

Some months were crazy good. But more often we struggled.

1 good month - dopamine.

Followed by 3 months of crickets.

This kept me on the 'hustle bus' 24-7.

Because I had to pay bills.

Though, what I didn't have was:

- Time to focus on my business
- Time to lead the team I built
- Time to get qualified, ready-to-buy leads

Instead of preventing fires, I was putting them out daily.

Until 2022, where I shifted my model. I decided to:

- Cap client spots
- Know my freedom number
- Count profit, not revenue
- Have a leveraged, low-stress business

This all came about because I focused on:

1. Making content to build my brand online
2. Making content to demonstrate my offer
3. Making content that showed proof and got inbound leads

This plan, got me to $1M+ over time. And:

$0 → $500K+ in 12 months (coaching business)
$3.4M generated for my clients 
$32M raise for a client (by Coinbase Ventures)
$0 → $5M raise for a UK fintech client 

With 1 offer, 1 audience, simple text posts, in 15 hours a week, without sales calls.

But it took my a whole 2 years to get it right.

I then focused on my writing + offers. Sold through Google Docs. Plain text. Provided insights. And made offers every day.

These little tweaks helped me generate more money than I could ever imagine.

3 things I’d do right now to get a high ticket client in the next week ↓

We’ve all gone through rough patches in business.

Fear, anxiety, self doubt starts to creep in when we’ve had a dry month or two.

Often, it comes down to sticking to the fundamentals.

Let’s get into it.

Assuming we have an offer that’s previously converted, and we know our target audience.

This is what I’d do:

1. Message 5-7 people daily

Have a conversation with 5-7 people.

Start with people who engaged with your post. Either they’ve commented or liked the post. Once you’ve exhausted that list move to your existing followers. Then you can use the search bar to expand further.

I would use a framework not a script as you don’t want to come off robotic. Spend more time identifying WHO to message vs volume of messages sent.

Keyword: intent.

Example (Marketing Consultant):

‘Hey Alex, if I wrote up a 7-day content plan for you and gave you 2x templates that have driven myself and clients inbound leads, would you be willing to give it a try?’

If yes, then either send them a video demonstration of the goods you prepared or invite them to have a short call.

Test to see how people respond.

Objections will come, keep going. Remember we’re only looking for 1 “yes”.

When you demonstrate, they’ll either ask how you can work together, or you can ask them at the end. If you’re not doing calls, this is where you share your text-sales letter.

2. Conversion-based content strategy 

Growth is cool, but we’re looking to sign a client.

I would have 4 core pieces of content this week.

- A client result → w/ breakdown of steps
- A personal result→ with breakdown of steps
- Your model → show your unique mechanism
- Your story → From X to Y (this builds trust)

At the end of the posts, either mention you have 1 spot available or say something like: “whenever you’re ready my work is for you”.

A generic “DM me”, doesn’t work as well as it used to.

But you can test it as it still does, if the posts are written well.

Remember, people who engage, are ripe for you to go back to step 1 and repeat.

Since we’re looking for 1 person, there’s true scarcity to fill the spot. Be open about this.

3. Ask clients who else they know

Don’t neglect existing clients. A happy client will always refer. So you can ask:

“Who else do you know that might benefit from my service?”

Don’t ask “do you know anyone?” Because that gets you a yes/no.

Asking who, makes them use their brain.

This step can also apply to your existing followers or people who engaged with your content.

Simple scales. Complex fails.

Remember:

Plant seeds & flowers will blossom.

When you need to get sh*t done…

The fundamentals are your best friend.

All the rest can wait.
