Hey. I’m Javier. My friends call me Javy. My co-workers call me Javi. Weird how they both work. I’m gonna share some personal things about myself – so here goes. Superpower: Dyslexia Favorite child: Depends on the day Long Copy vs Short Copy: Yes Fun Fact: I know random stuff about useless information. You want me for trivia. Type of Desk: Standing, though I need to stand more. Morning or Evening Workout: I want to beat the sun Favorite Marketer(s): Russel Brunson, Donald Miller, Gary Vee Call Name: Roach (cause I survive anything) College GPA: 2.70 (Good thing no one cares... except if I try to get an MBA???) Height: I’m tall. Maybe taller than you? Age: Old enough to know nothing compares to 90s Hip Hop Achievement: Marrying up. Failures: None. ‘Cause I don’t quit Well hello there… looks like you made it past my bio. Now, let’s get into the good stuff. I started my first company in 2008 during the Great Recession. Yea, didn’t see that coming. I knew I had the chops to sell. But, I had to figure out marketing. Once I did that, I created a turnkey system that pumped out leads and closed deals. 10 years later, I sold the business. Not bad for a guy that barely graduated college, while also winning a World Title in Karate. I then took my B2C business acumen and applied it to B2B. And, it worked. Why? How? Because my strategies were built on ever-green marketing tactics such as direct response, content marketing, demand creation, and demand capture. Things that drove revenue. This is the lifeblood of SMBs. Eventually, my marketing playbook, duplicatable systems, thorough strategies, and relentless effort to succeed, led me to 2 CMO roles – with my current one at Wrapmate. I believe marketing is part science and part art. There’s a healthy balance between the two. But, it needs to be entertaining too. I believe brand is your reputation. This needs to be worked on daily, and led from the top down in order to build a level of credibility that's undeniable. I believe that in order to succeed as a marketing leader, you need to stay focused on the ultimate goal, be willing to say ‘no’, push forward when your back is against the wall, and be revenue-driven. More importantly, you need to be the leader that others want to follow. So, be willing to teach, help, and get dirty. Enough about me. What’s your story?
