Work travel doesn’t always have to be all business… 👀

Over the years I’ve tried to get better at not only having a mission for work trips but also trying to enjoy the moment and be present.

This trip to Dubai I was focused on meeting the event organisers, getting Elfried Samba to agree to something I’ve got coming up 👀 and generating a couple sales leads…

Left the city accomplishing everything needed but also having a great weekend! 

1 Billion Followers Summit was a movie, loved getting to spend time with new people,  attending some interesting sessions and dancing until late into the night! 

Life isn’t that deep and I have to constantly remind myself to enjoy these trips and not be hyper focused on the tasks at hand.

A lot of the good stuff happens outside of the day to day of the conference 🙏🏽

Here’s why I love seeing Kai Cenat reading live on stream 📖

Kai Cenat recently shared that he wants to articulate himself better, so he’s committed to reading on stream every day for 15 minutes.

What’s even better is that he openly looks up words he doesn’t understand while reading. No ego. No pretending. Just learning in real time.

𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧?

Only 26% of boys aged 8–18 read regularly.

Reading is often seen as “uncool” by boys and, dare I say, even by grown men. Many of my male friends still don’t like to read, or won’t admit that they do.

I’ve always loved the idea of reading, but I didn’t finish my first book cover to cover until I was 21. Why? I didn’t want to seem like a “nerd.” Fast forward to today, and I’m an avid reader with plenty of books under my belt.

Seeing influential young men like Kai read publicly is exactly what we need. It’s just as important to see him work through barriers pausing to look up words, setting a manageable time limit, and showing that reading doesn’t have to mean hours on end. It can be as simple as what works for you.

I hope this has the desired effect and opens the door for many young men to discover a whole new world through reading!

Long live books

LinkedIn removed my “Top Voice” badge… and it made me feel some type of way... 😅 

There I was on Boxing Day, minding my business, when I got this DM on LinkedIn. Instantly confused.

My first thought was, Surely they didn’t remove my badge?
What did I do to cause that?

For about 24 hours, I felt genuinely flustered. Then it hit me why.

Whether I wanted to admit it or not, the external validation of being “verified” on LinkedIn meant more to me than I realised.

Eventually, I snapped out of it and literally said to myself:
“It’s not that deep, bro. It’s social media.”

I pride myself on having high self-esteem, so I was surprised by how much this affected me.

That’s why I’m writing this, partly as a reminder to myself, and partly for anyone else who needs to hear it: it’s just social media. It’s really not that deep.

I love talking… (yeah Jay, we know 😅)

But seriously, I love to talk. Especially on stages. Why? Because it lets me take an idea that once lived only in my head and share it with an audience.

I love telling a story, taking listeners on a journey, and hoping that by the end, we’ve all learned something new, together.

About a week ago, I realised what I truly love about this process: the reps it takes to deliver a keynote.

Right now, I’m practising a keynote I’ll be delivering throughout 2026 in 14 countries.

I’m thoroughly enjoying the process: hours in my car or the cleaning cupboard at the office, repeating the keynote, making tweaks, taking the time to get it just right.

𝗥𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗽.

Since the second week of December, I’ve logged around 18 hours of practice, and I’ll keep going, even after I’ve delivered it multiple times.

I love the process. I love the delivery.

This feels like what I was designed to do, so I make sure to give it my all, no shortcuts.

I also love meeting people who are equally obsessed with their thing, whether that’s music, running a business, or being a mum.

I’m obsessed with the obsessive.

Here’s to the folks who love putting in the reps... 𝗜 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂
