Growing up I moved 18 times trying to avoid all the problems that come with living on the wrong side of the tracks. Abandoned by my father at 3 and then by my adopted father at 7. I spent most of my youth hiding. I was playing defense. I was playing not to lose. My life changed when I discovered sports. It taught me that whatever my life was going to be, it was up to me. I decided to play to win. As my love for sports grew so did my love for sales. They were the same game - a challenge. I sold candy at school recess. I sold landscaping services. I sold basketball cards. I sold athletic shoes. I sold door-to-door. Sales taught me to focus on the process, not the result. I was playing to win. At my first professional sales job, I struggled until I stopped chasing clients and instead I started creating win-win-win strategic referral partnerships with people already in my network. I began breaking company sales records without trying but I still felt empty. At that moment, I knew I was playing to win, but I was playing the wrong game. I was playing the employee game. I needed to play the entrepreneur game. I needed to own 100% of my results and time. I decided to play offense & started my own commercial equipment finance company. This path gave me financial and lifestyle freedom to make the world my office. Even with this freedom, I still felt something was missing. Sure I created the life and business of my dreams but what about helping other sales professionals & entrepreneurs do the same by showing them this stupid simple and lucrative under-the-radar niche commercial finance opportunity.
