The key to moving fast and providing excellent work is finding partners you can trust. For me, that has been DemandMetric. Their KPI scorecards, risk registers, and milestone trackers slot together like LEGO, so you can move from whiteboard scribbles to investor‑grade storytelling fast. When your credibility rides on the next slide, speed AND rigor matter. DemandMetric quietly powers the strategic decks behind more than 2,000 growth‑oriented companies; now I won’t build a plan without checking their vault first. If you want an intro to the team, DM me. #growthstrategy #demandmetric #diyconsulting #marketingplanning
The Advantage of Pattern Recognition You can’t shortcut experience, but you can use it early, before mistakes get expensive. One thing that working for over 20 years in a large enterprise taught me: patterns show up early. Misalignment, inefficiencies, over complication — you can see it in the first few decisions if you know where to look. Now, working with startups, I use that experience to spot issues before they turn into lost time, money, or momentum. It’s not about being the loudest voice in the room. It’s about asking the right questions early — and helping teams focus on what actually moves the business forward. Pattern recognition doesn’t shout. It quietly saves you months. #StartupStrategy #EnterpriseExperience #BuilderOfFocus #SystemsThinking #FractionalLeadership
3 Ways to Provide Updates to Leaders/Executives Without Losing the Room If your update sounds like a monotone read-out of "we did this and then we did that," you lost the room. I’ve updated/pitched to—and sat with—executive teams across big pharma, diagnostics, and digital health. One consistency prevails: the best ideas don’t win. The clearest value stories do. Here’s how I coach (and remind myself) to deliver updates that land: ✅ Lead with Enterprise Value, Not Activity Don’t tell them what you did. Tell them why it matters to the business. Instead of: “We launched a pilot with 3 field teams.” Say: “We identified a 12% lift in conversion in under 60 days—here’s how we’re scaling.” ✅ Use Patient or HCP Impact to Frame the Story In life sciences, real impact stories cut through noise. Execs need grounding. “This initiative shortened time-to-therapy by 6 days for newly diagnosed patients.” OR “Field reps are using the tool 3x more—because it finally fits into their workflow.” ✅ 3. Tie Your Ask to Organizational Timing Strategy is a calendar game. The same ask lands differently in Q1 vs Q3. “This is a Q2 decision with Q4 revenue impact.” OR “We’re aligning this with the brand plan refresh and the field reset.” Bottom line: Great executives don’t want more detail. They want more clarity. #PharmaLeadership #ExecutiveCommunication #CommercialExcellence #StakeholderAlignment
Great thoughts from Larry Mickelberg in AI model training.
Larry Mickelberg
Concerns about AI model collapse are growing. As generative models train on synthetic outputs instead of real human data, their accuracy and usefulness decline. This The Register article outlines the risk. Once models lose connection to grounded sources, their outputs drift and degrade. At Axonal.AI, we built for a different reality. Our agents focus exclusively on pharmaceutical commercialization. They use real data from claims, scientific literature, CRM platforms, and brand metrics. They are not content machines. They are decision engines that prioritize, plan, and act. With scoped use cases, compliance-ready design, and continuously refreshed inputs, our system avoids the collapse cycle general models face. Pharma does not need generic AI. It needs focused systems that stay accurate, explainable, and tied to results. That is what we deliver. https://lnkd.in/eDMazxHM #AI #Pharma #LifeSciences #TrustInAI #GenerativeAI #CommercialExcellence
There are early signals of consolidation and streamlining tech stacks with this news from Takeda. Axonal.AI can deliver an embeddable intelligence layer into existing tech stacks so you don't have to go through the time and expense of ripping out old infrastructure to leverage the power of agentic AI. If you're looking for a IT friendly, embeddable intelligence layer that can co-exist with other tools, Axonal.AI is where the conversation should start. #AIinpharma #Commercial #pharmamarketing

🚨 Big signal from Takeda yesterday: They’re planning on unifying customer engagement with Salesforce’s Life Sciences Cloud across commercial, medical, and field. Pharma leaders are now investing in: ✅ Integrated workflows across functions ✅ AI-ready infrastructure ✅ Real-time, evidence-based decisioning At Axonal.AI, we’re seeing this shift up close. Customers aren’t just asking for dashboards, they want autonomous insight. They want agents that work inside the stack to generate competitive briefs, launch diagnostics, pull-through analytics, and more. CRM-legacy players like Salesforce and #Veeva will remain essential foundations but they need an intelligence layer on top to unlock their full value. That’s where Axonal comes in. We’re building the AI-native workspace for commercial pharma, one that reasons, analyzes, and delivers actionable signal, not just static reports. Congrats to Takeda on a major move. The infrastructure is changing. The next challenge is activation. #Pharma #AIinPharma #Commercial #Innovation #PharmaMarketing #LaunchExcellence #AgenticAI
Exciting news! FDA endorsement can be a huge catalyst. Thanks for sharing Larry Mickelberg
Larry Mickelberg
The FDA just launched Elsa, a generative AI tool designed to accelerate scientific reviews, spot safety signals, and help teams work faster and smarter across regulatory workflows. It’s a big move. Not because of the technology, but because of what it signals. Regulators are no longer watching from the sidelines. They are building with AI. At Axonal.AI, we are doing the same for commercialization. Like Elsa, our platform does more than summarize or surface information. It enables real decisions. Faster. Smarter. Safer. Our intelligent agents (Research, Analyst, Compliance, and soon, Planner) are already helping pharma teams synthesize unstructured data, generate real-time insights, and orchestrate action across HCP engagement, access, and field strategy. The FDA’s adoption of AI is not just a technical milestone. It is a clear signal that the future of pharma will be agentic, responsive, and designed to move at the speed of science. And if the regulators are moving this fast, your commercial model should too. https://lnkd.in/evPx3vvK #AIinHealthcare #IntelligentAgents #PharmaTransformation
100 Expert Insights on AI: Navigating the Future with Purpose The AI landscape evolves quickly, and understanding diverse perspectives is crucial. Section AI's compilation of 100 viewpoints from global experts offers a comprehensive look into the challenges and opportunities AI presents. From ethical considerations to workforce transformations, these insights serve as a guide for leaders aiming to harness AI responsibly. I am personally interested in AI as an enabler, not a people replacement. Almost all use cases should involve a Human in the Loop (HITL) to some degree. Therefore, I believe that Leaders have a responsibility to their organizations and teams to provide responsible frameworks for AI use. -Purpose-Driven Adoption: Organizations that integrate AI with clear objectives and strong governance are more likely to succeed than those adopting it without direction. -Ethical Responsibility: The impact of AI is shaped by the values and policies of its implementers, emphasizing the need for ethical frameworks in AI deployment. -Workforce Evolution: AI is shifting the focus from traditional roles to specific tasks, necessitating a reevaluation of job structures and employee value propositions. -Cross-Functional Alignment: Successful AI strategies require collaboration across technology, strategy, and frontline teams to avoid siloed operations and ensure cohesive implementation. Agile Teams Are Leading the AI Revolution—Here's Why As AI continues to reshape industries, organizations are striving to become AI-ready, and this article highlights something I violently agree with - mindset over tools. However, a recent article from Inc. highlights that it's not just about adopting new technologies—it's about cultivating the right mindset. Agile teams, with their emphasis on flexibility and continuous improvement, are uniquely positioned to thrive in this AI-driven landscape. -Agile Teams Embrace Change: Agile methodologies encourage teams to iterate quickly, adapt to feedback, and continuously improve—essential traits for integrating rapidly evolving AI tools. -Leadership Support is Crucial: Rather than mandating AI adoption, effective leaders provide support through training and resources, fostering an environment where experimentation with AI is encouraged. -Focus Amidst Abundance: With a plethora of AI tools emerging daily, agile teams prioritize effectively, ensuring they focus on tools that align with their strategic goals. -Mindset Over Tools: Adopting an agile mindset—valuing flexibility, collaboration, and customer-centricity—is more impactful than merely implementing agile practices. 🤖 Why Leaders Who Embrace Tech Are the Ones Who Win The future is here, and it’s powered by technology. Whether it’s AI, automation, or data analytics, being an early adopter is an advantage. I would suggest whether it's on a personal basis or through more formal business paths to always be an early adopter of technology and to know and understand it. Here’s why aligning with new tech matters: 1️⃣ It positions you as a leader. Being the go-to person for emerging tools builds influence. 2️⃣ It future-proofs your career. Staying ahead of the curve ensures you remain relevant in a rapidly changing world. 3️⃣ It drives innovation. New technologies open doors to ideas and solutions you couldn’t have imagined before. I am always looking for the influencers I can learn from because there is always going to be someone earlier than you - those are the people to learn from. Invest in learning one new tool or technology this quarter. Whether it’s AI-driven analytics or a new project management platform, small steps add up. In this case, I would focus on AI and how it can impact your work, your company, and your industry. As the old saying goes, it's better to be on the wave than crashed underneath it. 💡 How are you integrating new technologies into your work? #Innovation #EmergingTech #LeadershipTrends #AIAdoption
McKinsey released a report over the weekend looking at AI across top industries. The results are not necessarily surprising, but confirm what is being seen and felt. Here are a few takeaways: 1. While generative AI (gen AI) is widely used in marketing and sales, its application in other functions varies by industry. Organizations are deploying AI where it can generate the most value. 2. FinTech is ahead of Life Sciences (again). This is a familiar sight for those around during the early years of digital transformations. Financial institutions are focusing on improving their governance of gen AI, recognizing the importance of establishing robust frameworks to manage AI deployment effectively. 3. The life sciences industry is rapidly integrating gen AI into its processes, recognizing its potential to drive innovation and improve outcomes. 4. Function-Specific AI Deployment: Organizations are not adopting AI uniformly across all functions. Instead, they strategically implement AI in areas where it can deliver the most value, indicating a targeted approach to AI integration. 5. Governance as a Competitive Advantage: Industries like financial services are not just adopting AI but are also focusing on governance structures, suggesting that effective AI management is becoming a differentiator in the market. #LifeSciences #HealthcareInnovation #PharmaInnovation #GenerativeAI #DigitalTransformation
Part 2 of my thoughts on the Central Indiana Innovation Ecosystem. We are the Crossroads of America, and ironically, I think the region is at its innovation crossroads. The stakes are rising: ⚠️ NIH funding cuts looming ⚠️ New players entering the market ⚠️ Other regions are organizing faster and smarter In this follow-up to my original article, I share what I’ve learned, what’s at risk, and why the answer might be hiding in plain sight. #IndianaInnovation #HealthTech #EcosystemLeadership
High performers often become invisible. Until they leave. Here’s something I’ve learned: when you consistently deliver, people stop checking in. -They assume you’ve got it. -They stop asking if you're stretched too thin or if you’re still motivated by the mission. -They confuse competency with contentment. Most high performers don’t burn out because of the work. They burn out because of misalignment, underutilization, or lack of recognition. If you’re in a leadership role, look around. That person who “has it all under control?" Your "go-to," they might be the one quietly building their exit strategy. A good leader has the pulse of their team at a minimum every week. Check in before you lose the people you can’t afford to lose. #LeadershipTruths #ExecutivePresence #RetentionMatters #HighPerformers #OrganizationalHealth #LeadershipWisdom
The biggest myth in early-career leadership? That you get the title first, then the opportunity to lead. That is not quite reality. You will be expected to lead long before anyone calls you a leader. -You’ll need to influence people who don’t report to you. -You’ll navigate reorgs without a roadmap. -You’ll need to earn trust in rooms where your name isn’t even on the invite. And no one will formally train you for it. Because this is the moment that separates those who wait for a promotion… from those who are already leading. Here are lessons I wish someone had told me at the start of my career: 1. Influence isn’t given. It’s earned—quietly. Watch who moves the needle in your organization. It’s not always the person with the title. Learn how they listen, frame ideas, and bring others along. 2. Reorgs aren’t detours. They’re leadership labs. Every reorganization or "transformation" has something to teach: some will require you to adapt quickly, build alliances, and lead through what could be affectionately called the "fog of war." That’s what leaders do, especially before they're called leaders. 3. If you can’t speak leadership’s language, your impact gets lost in translation. Patient outcomes. Cost savings. Market growth. Speak in outcomes, not activities. It's the fastest way to be seen as someone who gets it. 4. The best way to be seen as a future leader? Lead something no one asked you to. Raise your hand. Take the project. Build the coalition. Solve the thing no one wants to touch. That’s where you can demonstrate leadership skills. If you’re wondering, “Am I ready to lead?” ask this instead: Am I focused on improving the organization, others, or just myself? I’d love to hear from you: What’s one leadership skill you’re building right now—before the title comes? #FutureLeaders #LeadershipInPharma #HealthTechLeadership #LIPostingDayMay
