I know through first-hand lived experience what it's like to be close to death through attempted suicide. I also know through first-hand lived experience - and now with the benefit of hindsight and much reflection - what the danger signs are of sleepwalking through decades of both personal and professional life everyday inching closer towards the cliff edge of an early death. You see, I now know I was mentally ill for a long, long time yet never really knew how or why. My life had become so filled with pressure, overwhelm, frustration and desperation I was not at peace with my true identity or purpose. But ever since I was a teenager I had never truly known this or understood it in the way that, thankfully, I do now. Strong stuff, I know. And it's the entire point of everything I'm now going to do for the remainder of my time on this earth. In response to my attempted suicide, I spent 2022 rewiring my brain to find peace and contentment within my own skin. I feel alive again. I feel light and free. I am grateful for everybody and everything that I have in my life. I don’t want to die anymore. I now know that connection and communication are at the heart of everything meaningful in this rollercoaster journey we call life. And it's through nurturing these connections with passion and simple communication, that I will build this tribe of like-minded people and leave my legacy with this world by smashing the stigma surrounding mental health ONCE.
