José is a Student Physical Therapist at the University of Pittsburgh Doctor of Physical Therapy program. He is also a Functional Range Strength Coach and Mobility Specialist. His extended experience in working with a wide range of athletes enables him to assist in getting athletes and individuals back to their normal activities pain free by optimizing movement for their specific needs. A thorough and concise assessment is what guides treatment to accomplish the goals set by the client. Versatility throughout the field of healthcare drive José’s pursuit of education in a variety of areas within the allied health and medical vocations. José understands that everything in the human body is a system from a macro to a micro level. Working with ATP has provided a deeper understanding of the musculoskeletal system and how it functions as a unit, whereas education in the medical field has allowed for José to recognize medical conditions and understand the inner workings of the human body on a micro level. Jose is also a Medical Laboratory Scientist. MLS is the field that allows physicians and healthcare professionals to obtain the information needed to make clinical decisions on the diagnoses of their patients. José also understands the importance of giving back to the community. Volunteering as a swim coach for Special Olympics and also as a therapist for a variety of athletic events, such as the Fairfield Half Marathon and the Mossman Triathlon at Seaside have been extremely rewarding experiences. José continues to give back by fundraising when he competes in jiujitsu tournaments and swim competitions dedicated to raising funds for the fight against cancer.
