Before we blink… the holidays are here. And everyone on LinkedIn is about to start posting the highlight reel - cozy sweaters, perfect families, curated tables… like we’re all living inside a Norman Rockwell painting.

But here’s the truth nobody likes to say out loud:

As this year is coming to an end, I’ve been reflecting on the lessons I’ve learned in 2025. And I’ll say this: I’m grateful for the lessons… and even more grateful to see this year pack its bags and leave.

Here are the lessons I’ve learned:

1️⃣ Protect your peace like it’s Prada.
If it costs you your peace, your sleep, your sanity, or your sparkle… it’s too expensive. Return to sender.

2️⃣ If someone shows you who they are, stop giving them a second audition.
This year taught me to stop fixing people I didn’t break and stop defending people I didn’t trust.

3️⃣ Other people’s opinions? Not my business.
Let them talk. Let them assume. Let them get it wrong. I’m not shrinking myself to fit someone else’s storyline - I’m busy writing my own.

4️⃣ Age is just the number of years I’ve been leveling up.
Confidence looks better than any filter, and happiness is the real anti-aging routine.

5️⃣ Your circle determines your shine.
The right people water you, clap for you, correct you with love, and remind you who the hell you are. The wrong people? They drain your battery faster than an old iPhone. Replace accordingly.

Here’s to the year that stretched me, sharpened me, humbled me, and upgraded me. 2026, I’m coming in wiser, lighter, louder, and absolutely unforgettable. ✨💛🔥

Veterans Day. 🇺🇸

We talk about freedom like it’s a given. Like it just shows up with the sunrise.

But freedom was PAID FOR.

Not in theory…
Not in hashtags…
Not in motivational posts…

In sacrifice. In time away from family. In silent nights of fear, discipline, responsibility, courage and duty.

Today -  I honor every Veteran who served. I honor the ones who didn’t come home the same. And the ones who didn’t come home at all.

You have no idea how many holidays, birthdays, milestones, memories… were given up so WE could live ours freely.

So today isn’t just gratitude. It’s reverence. It’s humility. It’s respect. It’s remembering.

Meanwhile, other people are over here pouring out actual value - heart, expertise, lived experience, vulnerability, wisdom - and the algorithm whispers,“Cute. Here’s 12 likes.”

So it made me think…

What SHOULD LinkedIn be?

A popularity playground?
A platform where only short posts win?
A space for real stories?
A place where people can be honest without being buried?

A community of humans… or a contest of metrics?

I know what I want it to be:
Real.
Human.
Honest.
Impact over impressions.
Connection over cliques.
Value over virality.

Some things on LinkedIn will forever confuse me…Like how we all found time to post today, but somehow some folks lost the ability to tap a like. ✨

There was a time I used to take everything personally.


Someone unfollowed me? I’d wonder what I did wrong. Someone didn’t clap when I won? I’d question if I deserved it. Someone misunderstood me? I’d write essays trying to explain myself.

Then one day, it hit me like a glitter bomb of truth: Most of it has nothing to do with you.

People project. They deflect. They misunderstand. And that’s their noise - not your problem.

The major cheat code in life? Become impossible to offend. 

When you’re truly secure in who you are, opinions fade into background noise. You don’t like me? Cool. You think I’m wrong? Bless your heart. You expected me to shrink so you’d feel taller? Oops - not happening.

Emotional independence is the real flex. Because once you stop needing validation, you become untouchable. They can’t touch what they can’t reach.

And peace? It doesn’t come from being understood. It comes from not needing to be.

Gratitude isn’t always glamorous.
