It was not difficult to accept I would not make it as a professional musician. Pondering what I would do with my career, I was given the opportunity to interview with a hotel front desk manager. During the interview, the front desk manager, Wilson, said to me: “All I have is a parking attendant position from 10pm to 4am, 3 days a week”. Career changing, right? I took the job and haven’t looked back. It's my ability to take on complex challenges and the ability to effectively communicate and motivate which have allowed me to grow my career from Parking Attendant to where I am today. A dedication to service and engaging with people is what hospitality means, and being kind to people goes far in this business. I pride myself on being an effective leader who seeks the best in people. I live by two ideas, introduced to me by Jamie Sabatier, former CEO of Two Roads Hospitality, which are to always be: 1. A cultural ambassador 2. A high performer This is how I evaluate myself and every employee I interact with regardless of their role: are they going to carry out the company mission statement?
