Still buzzing from being the MC at the Rawdon Village Gala on Saturday to remember VE Day. These snapshots show the lively atmosphere as the crowd enjoys a spectacular motorcycle stunt show, and the audience behind adds to the excitement. But the real highlight for me was witnessing the incredible confidence of the young dance performers. Four acts of pure courage! Providing opportunities for young people to build self-confidence and share their talents. Seeing these kids bravely take the stage was a powerful reminder of how supportive local events can nurture self-belief from a young age. Giving back to our community creates these vital platforms for everyone to shine. What are some ways you've seen local communities boost confidence?
The language you use shapes the confidence you feel. It’s not just what you say, it’s how you say it. Subtle shifts in phrasing can move you from hesitation to conviction. This isn’t hype. It’s psychology. Now read this part slowly: You’re already further along than you realise. People notice when you speak, even if they don’t say it. There’s something in you that others quietly admire. The way you show up? That’s the difference. You don’t need to be loud; just clear. Confidence isn’t built. It’s remembered. You’ve made braver choices than this. And deep down… you’ve already decided. So, how many confidence cues did you catch? Pop them in the comments 👇 And if you're ready to speak with real presence, message me. Curious how this could work for you? Let’s chat. If you’ve got something to say, I’ll help you say it with impact. Need this? Message me, it's your turn 😄
So, something pretty funny happened yesterday. I met up for an in-person coffee with a new LinkedIn connection, and wouldn't you know it, we live around the corner from each other, less than 100 yards. Talk about a small world! This got me thinking about, "The Power of Confidence in Networking." Putting yourself out there online can sometimes feel like a leap, but it opens the door to meeting interesting people and building real connections. That little bit of confidence makes it easier to reach out and form those meaningful relationships. Who knew my next connection lived just a few steps away? Thanks for the Coffee, Lis Wilson. I will bring cakes next time. Have you ever had a surprising connection come out of nowhere? Please share your stories in the comments.
Why Most Professionals Struggle with Confidence Confidence isn’t just about skills, it’s about mindset. Most professionals don’t lack ability. They’re battling internal blocks that quietly sabotage them. Here are the big three: Self-Doubt Despite Success – Struggling to believe you’ve earned your place, even when your results say otherwise. Fear of Judgment – Worrying too much about what others might think. Perfectionism – Believing anything less than perfect equals failure. In my work with professionals, these three blocks consistently appear. Whether it’s a senior exec or someone changing direction, the pattern’s familiar: They question their worth, even as they achieve great things. They hold back for fear of getting it wrong. They exhaust themselves trying to appear flawless. Absolute confidence comes when you uncover these blocks, challenge them, and rebuild belief from the inside out. If this resonates, let’s talk. Confidence can be created. And it changes everything. Which of these blocks have you wrestled with the most?
This week, I revisited a book I read a few years ago. "Go For No!" by Fenton and Waltz, And it highlights how your confidence in handling rejection fuels your activity. The more comfortable I was with "NO's" this week, the more I asked, and the more "YES's" appeared. What's the most surprising thing you learned from a "NO" this week? Please get in touch with me if you want to learn how to overcome your fear or rejection and start getting more Nos, which will lead to more Yesssss.
Remember those lockdown days when we all became DIY hairdressers? My attempt still gets laughs on my social media feeds! Some things are best left to the professionals. And your confidence is definitely in that category. Just like you wouldn't trust a wonky home haircut for a big event, don't leave your confidence to chance. As a coach, I see the incredible transformations when people invest in expert guidance. It's about unlocking your potential, achieving goals you never thought possible, and feeling truly empowered. Don't settle for a "good enough" version of yourself. What's one area where professional coaching could help you shine? Let's have a chat.
This quote makes me laugh every time, But there’s a deeper truth in there. Many people I coach have internalised the noise around them, “You’re not confident enough” “You’re too quiet” “You’re not cut out for leadership” And over time, they start believing it. I’ve been there too, second-guessing myself, playing small, holding back in rooms where I knew I belonged. Confidence isn’t about being loud. It’s about trusting yourself even when others doubt you. What’s something you were told you couldn’t do... but did anyway? (Or still working on?) Drop it below, I’d love to hear your story.
Most don’t need a new goal, They need to believe in the one they already have. I’m currently working with a commercial airline pilot. Due to some personal challenges, they had taken a break from flying. When we first connected, their confidence had taken a hit. But their goal was still clear, they wanted to get back in the sky. We started working together one-to-one. It wasn’t just about strategy or checklists. It was about belief. Week by week, we rebuilt it. Step by step, they showed up. Last week, they passed their reevaluation and medical examination. They’re back in training and continuing their journey. Sometimes, belief is the only missing piece. When it’s back, everything else follows. P.S. You don’t need to change your dream. You need to believe in it again. What’s one goal you’ve put on pause but can’t let go of? Share it in the comments, I’d love to hear.
Networking can feel exciting… or awkward. Sometimes both. As a confidence coach, I’ve seen how people approach it differently. Some chase opportunities, others want a real connection, and some avoid it altogether. When you put yourself out there and network (online or in person), what are you really hoping to get from it? 👇 Vote below — and feel free to add your thoughts in the comments too. I’m always curious how confidence plays a part in whether we.... Lean in… or Stay Silent

You don't need more content You need more certainty: → Certainty in who you help → Certainty in how you communicate → Certainty in what moves someone from “just looking” to “where do I pay?” Most people post because they’re told to stay visible 👉 Visibility without clarity is noise → Noise doesn’t convert → You don’t need a funnel → You need a frame. ⭐ One that positions you as the prize ⭐ One that makes your ideal buyer feel they found the solution before you sold it This isn’t about getting likes... It’s about building leverage If LinkedIn isn’t generating leads for you weekly, You’re probably building a reputation, not a business Let’s fix that! Stop wasting time! Turn LinkedIn connections into paying clients In 4 simple steps. I’ll show you how... Join the live 😆
It was a funny twist of fate following yesterday's post about "Late Game Goals!" My day began with a series of unexpected cancellations and setbacks. You know those days when you just want to shut everything down? However, something about my post from yesterday about scoring in the final moments stuck with me. Instead of giving up, I kept my laptop open a little longer... and then, BAM! I ended the day with two incredibly productive and inspiring meetings that I would have otherwise postponed. I now have two new potential clients who could have easily gone elsewhere. It just goes to show that, whether on the pitch or in our careers, it’s never too late to score a win. What unexpected 'late goals' have you experienced? Share your stories!
Confidence isn’t just a personal trait; it’s a strategic edge. Confidence is no longer about faking it till you make it. It’s about building it through clarity, competence, and consistent action. Professionals are prioritising mindset work as much as skillset development. Leaders are realising that absolute confidence comes from preparation, not bravado. Career changers and entrepreneurs are investing in coaching to silence self-doubt and show up with authority. Confidence in 2025 means owning your space, not because you’re perfect, but because you’re practised and present. If you’re still waiting for confidence to arrive before you take action, you’ve got it backwards. Confidence comes after you move, not before. I'm seeing this shift every day with my clients when they take one step forward, their confidence rises to meet them. Where in your life or career are you waiting for confidence when you could be creating it? If you're ready to stop waiting and start showing up with confidence, DM me and I'll create a bespoke confidence-building plan tailored to you.
“I’m not consistent. I keep falling off.” That used to be me every other week. I’d start strong on Monday… But by Thursday? Swamped, distracted, gone. It wasn’t a confidence issue. It was emotional chaos. This is the bit no one talks about: You can’t build momentum in life or business, If your mindset resets every time things get tough. What changed for me? I built a structure. I found rhythm. And I stopped waiting for perfect conditions. Now I stay in the game even when it’s messy. That’s real confidence. What could you achieve if consistency finally clicked into place?
I am clocking the fact that I'm likely in the last 20% of my life's game... It's a bit surreal, not gonna lie. But you know what keeps popping into my head? That stat about football. How a surprising number of WINNING goals, often around 25% or even more, explode in that last quarter and extra time. And honestly, that resonates. All these years, the connections I've made, the lessons learned. They feel like they've set me up for a significant final stretch. There's a confidence brewing, and a feeling that some of the most significant and impactful 'goals' are still waiting to be scored. I'm Excited (and maybe a little nervous!) to see what this next chapter holds. What are some of the 'late game goals' you've witnessed or are aiming for in your journey?
The more I network, whether in person or online, The more apparent it becomes… Confidence isn't about being the loudest in the room. It’s how someone holds eye contact, follows up, or introduces themselves without shrinking. The difference is obvious. Those with confidence move with ease. Those without often hesitate, doubt, or avoid. And I get it. It’s not about ego. It’s about trust in your value, your voice, your presence. As a confidence coach, I see how quickly things shift when someone starts backing themselves properly. How do you find others when networking? Do you notice confidence straight away? I'm always here to help you build that self-belief. Feel free to message me to get your Networking rolling.
Confidence whispers, ego screams. You know how it is. What I see a lot is folks trying to sound confident, But it's all a bit...ego-driven. Real confidence? That's the quiet stuff. It's just knowing you're good without needing to shout it. Ego's always gotta prove something. That's why when I work with people 1-2-1, we dig a little deeper. Forget the quick fixes, we get to the real stuff that's making you doubt yourself. We quiet down that ego noise and build up that genuine, solid confidence from the inside out. It's about feeling good in your own skin, no need for the spotlight. Fancy figuring out how to turn down the ego and crank up your real confidence? Let's chat. Which voice are you tuning into today?
