Matt S.'s Linkedin Analytics

Matt Stokes has been in the philanthropy field for more than a decade, working largely with educational nonprofit organizations. He is currently a leadership giving officer at Yale University. He most recently was the senior associate director, prospect management and research at Morehouse College. Matt has also served as the senior development officer at Posse Atlanta, the administrative services manager for development at Berea College, the development associate/executive assistant to the CEO at Christopher House, and the development assistant at Holy Trinity High School (Chicago). Over the course of his career, he has performed both development and development operations work. Matt is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the African American Development Officers Network (AADO). He is an advocate of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). He volunteers for Men of Color in Development's (MOCID) Mentoring Committee. A native of Chicago, Matt graduated with a BA in history from Oberlin College and a MA in organizational leadership from Western Kentucky University. He has a certificate in marketing and public relations (strategic sport communications) as well as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. In his leisure time, he likes to write, bowl, brunch with family and friends, and travel. The CliftonStrengths assessment is a tool developed by the Gallup Organization. It helps individuals discover and grow their top five strengths and can help organizations improve company culture and performance. Matt's DISC Style is CID (C - 40%, I - 35%, and D - 25%). DISC is a tool used by more than one million people every year to help improve teamwork, communication, and productivity in the workplace. C stands for conscientiousness, I for influence, S for steadiness, and D for dominance.
