I have the ability to draw the big picture, make people talk together and see common interests. I would not be where I am today if I did not live by the motto “Learning by doing”. It is the pedagogy I learned as a young girl guide, and I know that this is why I still today dare to take up new and challenging tasks. Good cooperation is more important than ever. International cooperation is essential. It is a privilege to represent the interests of West Norway i Brussels. The ambitions of Europe can only become reality when local level is involved and do the job. I am always looking out for how local work can be linked to international cooperation and maybe even be financed by European Programmes. To learn and speak foreign languages was my first love, and I am still faithful… Good communication, both oral and written, is at the core of my work. I have worked on communications in both NGOs and in the European Commission. It is also a big part of my job at West Norway Office I believe that every person is so much more than the knowledge that has been gained through studies and formal education. Interpersonal skills are amongst the skills that are learned on so many other arenas than at school. Competence for the future is a hot topic on the European Agenda, as well as in Norway. Throughout my career I keep coming back to education, competence and skills. It has been said that "A person who never laughs is not serious." When I recruit to my team the ability to cooperate with others is an essential quality. When working together with a smile, we go further, faster – while enjoying the ride.
