It's going to be a good week. 

I just got home from the Newbury Partners team trip to Punta Cana, and I am so in love with our team and the culture that exists here.

Plus, tomorrow, I get to have lunch with Nikki Cabus 🌴 and the crew from South Florida Tech Hub 🌴while listening to the gems of Gary Vee. 

And finally, tomorrow's episode of the podcast with Dana Mahina brought such a smile to my face. 

Is GRATEFUL  Monday's a thing because it should be? 

I played hooky from work yesterday to see Gary Vaynerchuk speak...

Great use of anyone's day. 

After reviewing my notes, my 5 biggest takeaways:
1. We need to remember patience when tackling big things
2. You can't read about doing pushups and expect to get stronger ( aka get off your ass)
3. Technology is undefeated, kind of like a wave🌊
-You can stick your head in the sand and get overtaken or grab a surfboard and enjoy the ride🏄‍♂️
4. Don't Hold onto Moats that don't exist! 

5. Don't let the media teach us (Americans & the world) to hate each other!💖 

The broad takeaway: Gary is one of our great thinkers, and I feel so fortunate to have spent the 30 minutes getting to see him in person.

I love when you learn something new before 9am. 

I just wrapped a call with David Folwell over at Staffing Referrals and learned 2 things. 

1. Staffing Referrals also has a consulting service that helps your staffing and/or Recruiting business create, implement, and optimize a referral program. 

2. #1 is only more relevant based on a recent case study they completed...

that case study found Talent sourced via referral worked an average of 5 months more than talent from other sources, which led to an additional $20k per placement. 

This is the year of optimization, so let's get more per placement. 

So explain why you don't have a Referral Program again?!
