As a kid I was always thrilled to hear stories on "how" things came into being and I always had a knack for communicating with ease that abled me to portray myself in the most creative manner as a designer. Severance gives us the perfect lesson in visual storytelling. (Iโm obsessed with Severanceโnot just the story, intriguing and brilliantly told, but the flawless visual curation. Keep reading, and Iโll tell you why.) Itโs a perfect lesson for brands: clutter steals attention. Our brain, when presented with too many options or visual stimuli, defends itself by reducing attention. The more information weโre exposed to at once, the less we actually process. This holds true for movies, websites, presentations, outfits, and speeches. Minimalism reduces distractions. It guides the eye, amplifies emotion, and creates cohesion.
