Special interests are inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure and esophageal motility disorders. Conditions seen include ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, short bowel syndrome, home parenteral nutrition, GERD, achalasia, colon cancer screening. I also see elite athletes with sports nutrition concerns or active GI issues.

I am skilled in upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, complex polypectomy and GI bleeding control. I offer EndoFLIP, Bravo and esophageal manometry.

As club doctor at a professional football club I lead a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, nutritionists and sport scientists, working closely with club management. I have developed the emergency protocols and worked to increase awareness of the critical impact sports nutrition can have on performance. 

Other sports medicine responsibilities include British Boxing Board of Control doctor with responsibility to professional doctors before, during and after competition. Part of the BBBofC working party for improving the safety of the sport.

Head doctor for Team GB delegations to the 2009 and 2013 World Maccabi Games as well as the 2011 and 2015 European Maccabi Games.

Part of the National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow Scheme designed to give junior doctors the opportunity to spend time in a dedicated out-of-programme experience to develop their skills in leadership, management and health policy.

I worked with senior management at Bupa to develop strategies to better engage with clinicians and patients based on the data available through claims and clinical encounters. I continue to work with Bupa in a consultancy capacity on value-based approaches to healthcare commissioning.
