Behind the scenes: Today I hit a wall. I spent the day trying to enhance our OCR pipeline — to convert complex legal documents into clean, structured Markdown. It’s hard enough already. But doing it inside a secure Swiss environment? That’s a whole different beast. The tech exists. But the access? Not here. Switzerland - a top 25 GDP country - still feels like the last stop for cutting-edge AI infra. For some legal documents, we need pixel-perfect text extraction — even from messy tables, handwritten notes, footers, complex layouts. That requires serious tech — and most of it isn’t available for local, secure, compliant hosting. Mistral AI OCR is very promising. But hosting it properly, securely, here in CH? Still a massive pain. We looked at local providers like Infomaniak. But based on feedback from our partners, clients, and devs... their lagging behind. So we’re left in a frustrating space: Great vision Strong will No easy infrastructure And now we’re wondering: Do we build it ourselves? Invest hundreds of thousands to make our own Swiss-grade secure AI stack? Maybe. But honestly, we shouldn’t have to. We talk about growing Swiss tech. But we don’t give Swiss builders the tools they need. I don’t have the solution yet. But I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this. And if you’re building here too — and you’re fed up — let’s connect. This can’t stay like this.
What a difference the right tool makes. Left side? Chaos. Rewrites. Draft v3.2. Outlook overload. Right side? Calm. Clarity. One-click flow. That’s the kind of shift we’re building with Whisperit. Because lawyer life shouldn’t be a battle with your tools. I am curious: which side do you feel closer to today? 🤔
This week, we’re making our secure AI assistant smarter and easier to use. One thing we’ve learned: The “white page” effect is real - not just for writing, but also when prompting AI. When you’re staring at an empty chat box, it’s hard to know how to ask for exactly what you need. So in Whisperit, we’re adding guided workflows inside the secure chat assistant. Instead of starting from scratch, you’ll be guided step-by-step: • Translate a legal document. • Check a contract for coherence. • Craft a new contract based on previous cases. The goal: Turn AI into a real legal assistant, not just a black box you have to guess how to use. Helping you get from “I need this done” to “It’s ready” - faster, and with full security.
Future Vision Imagine if lawyers could spend 80% less time on admin — and 80% more on what they actually love. Less time buried in documents, searching through emails, fixing formatting, managing drafts. More time thinking, advising, defending, negotiating — doing real legal work. That’s the vision I’m building toward. A clean, simple-to-use solution that feels natural. That supports your excellence instead of slowing it down. That helps you build better relationships with your clients — based on trust, quality, and real human value. Whisperit isn’t just about speed. It’s about giving lawyers back the space to be great at what they do. We’re not fully there yet. But every feature, every improvement, every user insight gets us one step closer.
Why are so many lawyers still using Outlook to search for case information? I couldn’t believe it when I discovered this recently. Sure, email search has improved a lot. But when I started asking “why” (again and again), the real reason came out: Searching in their other systems is a complete pain. Slow, messy, unreliable. So, they default to the one thing they know: their inbox. There has to be a better way. Today, with AI, we can break down searches intelligently, use natural language, and even run searches across multiple systems at once — like having a paralegal assistant working at lightning speed. Finding critical case information shouldn’t feel like digging through an old storage room. It should feel instant. Simple. Smart. I’m building toward that.
Legal tech isn’t broken. It just wasn’t built for real lawyers. Most tools out there were designed for IT buyers or mega firms. They tick boxes like “Word integration” — but when you actually try it, it’s just a basic AI prompt inside Word that spits out something random. That’s not real value. It’s checkbox value. Here’s what I’ve learned: Most lawyers aren’t geeks (okay, I know a few now 😬), and they shouldn’t have to be. They want tools that just work. That help them do better work. That make them faster, smarter, more precise — without getting in the way. That’s what I’m building. Not for the 1% mega firms. But for the everyday lawyers who are tired of clunky, bloated, over-promised tools. Simple. Smart. Actually useful. That’s the bar we’ve set with Whisperit.
I just want to say thank you. I’m really grateful for the lawyers who are sharing feedback, being patient with what we ship, and helping us push this tech forward — one real-world use case at a time. You’re not just users. You’re collaborators. And with your help, we’re building tools that lawyers can trust — to write, to research, to analyze, and to work with more clarity and confidence. The goal has always been: simple, powerful tools that feel like they were built for you, not forced on you. And honestly? It’s thanks to you that these new beta features are getting better every day — and already rocking in ways we didn’t expect. We’re just getting started. But I’m really proud of what we’re shaping — together.
Lawyers and builders like me have something big in common: we’re both control freaks. I love tech because it lets me tell every bit and byte exactly what to do. Total precision. Total control. Lawyers? They’re the same - but with words. Every word in a contract, every clause, every comma matters. They are true language maestros. A single word can change the outcome of a case or a negotiation. When I realized that, it completely changed the way I think about building tech for them. It’s not about making things faster at all costs - it’s about giving them precise control over their work, but with way less friction. Respect the craft. Simplify the process. That’s the real mission.
Imagine this: You whisper your thoughts into your computer. Messy. Half-sentences. Quick ideas. No pressure. And a few seconds later, AI transforms it into a clean, structured, professional legal document draft - exactly how you wanted it. That’s the vision behind Whisperit. Not typing. Not fighting with templates. Just talking - and letting AI do the heavy lifting, while you stay in control of the final result. From whisper to document. From idea to action. Fast, safe, and simple. That’s how legal work should feel in 2025. Would you use a tool like this in your daily legal work? Curious to hear your first reaction.
Building tech for lawyers is like handing my 90-year-old grandmother an old Nokia 3210. It’s incredibly hard to use. She could barely send a message — trying to type on that tiny T9 keyboard felt impossible. But when she got an iPhone? She started texting, sending photos, and even using emojis... all on her own. The difference wasn’t in her ability. It was the tool. Lawyers are the same. It’s not that they can’t adopt better workflows — it’s that most tools feel like using a Nokia in 2025. I believe legal tech should be simple, reliable, and stress-free — so lawyers can focus on law, not on fighting the software. That’s the mindset behind everything we build with Whisperit.
Here’s one small legal task we killed — and how it felt for the lawyer. It started with something simple: "Drafting letters and memos takes us days." When I asked why, they walked me through their workflow: • Dictate a draft • Send it to a secretary • Secretary listens (yes, with actual foot pedals!) and types it up • Print it • Lawyer marks it up by hand • Back and forth again and again ...Sometimes for 2–3 days. Just to send a letter. It blew my mind! We replaced that with a 10x faster flow: The lawyer speaks directly in Whisperit — explaining what they want. AI turns it instantly into a first draft, already in a shareable document. They can review, tweak, and collaborate with their assistant live. Then export it to Word or send it directly by email. One click. The result? They were literally dancing in the office. They showed their colleagues immediately. They were happy. Like really happy. And honestly, that’s what drives me the most: Not just building cool tech — but seeing a lawyer light up, realizing “This just saved me hours... and I actually enjoyed using it.” That’s the win.
📣 I’m thrilled to share a major milestone for us at Whisperit — we’ve just onboarded our 200th customer! 🚀 It still feels surreal. Just over a year ago, this was an idea. Now, lawyers across Switzerland 🇨🇭, Germany 🇩🇪, the United States 🇺🇸, Finland 🇫🇮, Belgium 🇧🇪, the UK 🇬🇧, Portugal 🇵🇹, France 🇫🇷, India 🇮🇳, Turkey 🇹🇷, Austria 🇦🇹, and Luxembourg 🇱🇺 are using Whisperit as their AI-powered legal workspace! What I’m incredibly proud of is this: over 30% of our users work with WhisperIt every single day. Not just logging in — actually working with it. Drafting, analyzing, researching. That’s a huge sign that we’re building something they truly love and can rely on in their legal practice. The hardest part? Focus. At the beginning, I wanted to build for everyone: lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs… But narrowing down on the legal world was the best decision we made. This milestone confirms it. Next up: we’re aiming to reach 500 customers — not just accounts, but real engagement. It’s ambitious, and it won’t be easy. But with the same care and attention to each user, I’m confident we’ll get there. Looking forward to the next 300! 🙌 #legaltech #AIforLawyers #Whisperit #StartupMilestone #OnwardAndUpward
