Uncertainty drove me toward my logic Makes sense? Let me try to explain.. I took some chances… I always thought my career would be a Business Analyst or Project Manager. I thought it logical, as certain interests of mine lay in problem solving, data analysis, turning data into useful info and also, working with people. To this day, these interests are still very much core interests of mine but the positions I held did not fill me with excitement or thoughts of progression, the best way I can describe it is feeling like doing your least favourite school homework on a Sunday night. I will openly tell anyone, unbeknownst to myself, my “real” working career did not commence until I was 30/31.. where I started on the path, to where I am today. My opportunity came from unlikely circumstance occurring back in 2013, which led to gaining a position with a growing online sports retailer in the UK, in 2015. So, I moved to the UK from Cork, based purely on personal reasons & professional opportunity to better myself. I feel I have always been a sink or swim type person. My journey took a while, but that move to North Wales, overtime, gave me everything I wanted and allowed me embrace my skillsets & career passions in one busy place. I was very fortunate, it allowed me to shape my own journey. I entered into new areas of Ecomm, Logistics, Ops & People, and soon, heading up these departments. That business grew from 4m to 50+million during my time there and we shipped to 220+ countries globally. Everything we achieved, the learnings & insights I gained, helped my thinking evolve around what could be possible for other UK businesses, of all sizes in the global market. I began to think that if we did it, why couldn't other businesses do it?
