A story teller.

This week, the U.A.E experienced its highest rainfall in 75 years.

We received a year's worth of rain in just 20 hours. 

The entire city was affected by floods, roadblocks and other major damages. 

Yet, it was heartbreaking to see SO MANY people being forced to return to work. 

If people can work remotely without the stress of driving through flooded roads for hours, then allowing them not only gets work done but also gives them time with their families during these difficult times. 

My family and I have been some of the fortunate ones who didn't have any reason to step out.

But thousands of people across the UAE have been less fortunate and were asked to step out for non-vital functions at their workplaces .

During these challenging times, when people are dealing with the loss of their homes, vehicles and spirits, the kindest thing an employer can do is ask their employees to work remotely this week.

As my city heals, I wish more businesses would use this opportunity to make compassion and kindness as core values.

Lets not forget basic humanity while running businesses!

Back in India when I had a pet dog, the annual expense was barely a few hundred dollars. 

Now, the Middle East and Africa pet food market alone is set to touch USD 6.4 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 4.32%. The pet industry is poised to swell from USD 320 billion to USD 500 billion by 2030. US pet food sales are expected to touch USD 200 billion!!! 

The Packaging industry is not far behind with global Pet food packaging Sales hitting a record USD 11 billion in 2023 and is poised to grow at a CAGR of 5.8%.

Yesterday, while attending the Pet World Arabia at Dubai World Trade Centre, I was amazed to see companies from all over the globe exploring the potential of this industry in the region. 

The pet food and packaging industry have a symbiotic relationship and must explore the full potential of the 2 rapidly growing sectors. 

The pet food industry while ensuring the full stomachs of the pets will definitely empty the pockets of the pet owners. 

One thing is certain, pet care especially pet food industry is fast becoming a purr-iority (sorry, I couldn't resist). 😅
