Hello! 👋 Are you here because you saw one of my videos on LinkedIn? 🤔 I’ve been called “funny” my whole life, which I’ve never taken as an insult. Funnily enough. I’m Tom Boston and making people smile makes me smile. It always has. When I started working in B2B sales in 2016, it felt like there wasn’t a place for my humour. My job wasn’t to make people smile, after all. Right? I stopped trying to make people laugh and started to try make people buy. Guess what? That didn’t work at all. 🫠 I wasn’t a very good salesperson. It took me three years (and three more roles) before I realised something that changed the trajectory of my career: Being "good" and being "true to yourself" are one and the same. In 2019, I went all in on authentic selling. I started having fun. I started actually being myself. I started making LinkedIn videos. Before I knew it, I wasn’t just in sales – I was winning at sales. Becoming one of the top SDRs in the country and recognised as one of the top sales influencers in EMEA. I started coaching other sellers, on how they could leverage social media to build their personal brand and do the same. To build an audience. To have a voice on this platform. In my 8 years working in B2B sales, I’ve learnt a lot. Here’s what I know to be true: - A strong personal brand is a non-negotiable in 2025 - Being yourself is the answer to success in sales - Coaching is the quickest route to growth - Sales CAN be fun (but really though) Follow me on LinkedIn for funny (if I do say so myself) content about sales and sales coaching. 👊
