I just saw something interesting during the IPL opening match, did you too? 👀 While watching the season opener between KKR and RCB, I noticed something called Brand Spotlight. During the initial overs a graphic at the bottom of the screen would inform viewers to watch out for a brand's ad after the over. What followed was something interesting. Usually ad breaks during cricket matches would feature multiple ads. Not this time. Just one brand, owning the moment. That’s Brand Spotlight. Today, I’ve gone from praying about work to praying for the semi-finals. I don’t think I’ve stressed about my own performance as much as I’ve wished for Kohli’s. Midway through the match, I jumped onto CricFit for a quick update only to see that Kohli had already secured a half-century. Relief turned into pure joy. And then, right below the score, an Amazon MX Player ad caught my eye: “Ardh Shatak Japnaam Aur Zor Se.” Brilliant. They knew exactly what we were all thinking, hoping, manifesting.
