More often than not, I am faced with Graduates who are struggling to find work. Whether it be a result of a saturated market, limited practical experience, or newbie-nerves, this is a dilemma that almost every graduate will experience when entering the workplace for the first time. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫: After graduating from UCT, armed with a double major I was eager to get out there and start working. With my pen as my sword and two novels under my belt, I was ready to conquer the professional world. I was eager to learn and passionate to make a difference. But guess what? It wasn't all unicorns and rainbows. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: After 8 months of scrolling through job boards and attending a handful of interviews for jobs I didn’t really want, I started to realize something. The job search is NOT about luck. With zero planning, applying for anything and everything, I was close to giving up. I had one option, get creative and get a plan. 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬: Determined to help other graduates in the same boat, I ventured into the world of recruitment. From data capturing over 1 300 Cvs to helping graduates kick-start their careers, I found my true calling.
