Visiting faculty at the School of Visual Arts and Design. Responsibilities include teaching, managing the curriculum and facilitating undergrads for the following courses:

-Illustration II 

The course students intensify their research practice in illustration.
Editorial illustration and other indirect yet playful applications are explored. Emphasis is placed on the elements and dynamics of style and language. Students are expected to develop their own personal vocabulary for illustration by the end of the course.

-Typography and Layout

The course introduces students to the basics of digital typography and creating imagery/layouts through the use of type. Students are familiarized with specific terminology regarding font classification, measurement, placement and page arrangement.

Further emphasis is placed on understanding the semiotic value of fonts and the importance of applying it appropriately to the message.

-Visual Communication Design Major Studio I 

In this course, students are familiarized with areas of visual communication such as information, orientation, documentation, and narration through short, experimental assignments. The emphasis lies on design thinking, strengthening manual and digital execution skills as well as perceptive and conceptual abilities. 

Important approaches such as semiotics are explored through readings and applied to research leading to experiments with a variety of design formats.

Mosami was born in 2011, from the collaborations between visual artist Haider Ali, independent graphic designer Zain Naqvi and Architect Talha Muftee.

There’s more to design than what meets the eye,the collaboration unites expertise in graphic design and visual art. The group produces visual identities, branding, packaging, web, print for publications and marketing collateral, exhibition along with motion graphics.

Our work process is founded on a desire to innovate new territories through collaborations with creative visionaries in the fields of architecture, design, art and culture.

Red Bull

Curated by Zain Naqvi, the ‘Red Bull Canvas Cooler' unveiled a new display that showcased Red Bull coolers reworked into pieces of art by some of the most innovative artists in Pakistan.

Aimed at pushing the art scene boundaries. The first-ever ‘Red Bull Canvas Cooler‘ exhibition brought together pieces from twelve of the most innovative artists in Pakistan to showcase their creativity, imagination, and ingenuity under one roof at the Riots Studio in Lahore.

Supporting art and creative minds of Pakistan, Red Bull Canvas Cooler exhibition was by large attended by people from all walks of life. Be it music, films or media, some of the most prominent faces showed up at the exhibition to support the twelve artists featured on the project. 'The artists have done some amazing artwork' said Ali Hamza from the famous rock band Noori. 'Great project and there should be more projects of such nature in Pakistan' said Shiraz Upal. Bilal Khan, Ali Noor, Farhad Humayun, Umair Jaswal; to name a few were some of the famous names that graced the Red Bull Canvas Cooler exhibition with their presence.
