I am the person at a network event, in the group that is laughing a bit too loudly, having a bit too much fun for such a serious and important event. You walk over and say hi, "Hi". What do you do, you ask? "I’m a connector of dots". Slightly raised eyebrow. I continue. I help brands understand where they are now, where they want to be and what they need to do to bridge the gap. Huh, what does this mean, you ask This involves digging into the context of now, understanding who the customer is at a human level, evaluating the value proposition via the lens of the brand and the products, and how it communicates it via the big ideas and tiny details of marketing. Whether a company has been in market for 5,10,30, 50+ years it is often about stripping out the layers of complexities, redefining and then codifying the magic, so the brand can set about winning the hearts and minds of its customers. And who do you do it for you ask? All sorts of brands. What I love about my job is the variety. I am currently helping a big, world famous legacy brand shift change, whilst at the same time helping a scale up, scale. I work across categories and bring in brilliant people to help me along the way. And when I say brilliant, they really are. I work across categories, in any sector and collaborate with truly brilliant people along the way. I also host a podcast ‘Big Ideas and Tiny Details’ where I interview guests all about the different facets of marketing. It’s 15 minutes and we get straight to the point.
